    “This store is much nicer than our poor excuse for one in Urbana. The staff is even nicer and more attentive. It's neater and bigger as well. We found everything we needed. I was also surprised to see that they even sell wine. I plan on going to this one when I pass through from now on. Our cashier was a sweetheart, too. I dropped my pen from my purse while retrieving my wallet, and it was promptly lost in the candy bars. I looked for a short time, but told her it wasn't very important. She immediately offered her own pen, which as it turned out was much nicer than the one I'd lost. I really like this place.”

    “Moved here a year ago and have used this store numerous times now. Just met the owner who is very sweet. Yes it's a small place but it's supposed to be. It's a tiny town market; what do you expect? They work hard to serve you. They have a facebook page you can use to keep informed of deals. We are lucky to have them! Convenient for all of us in that area, but also a cute place you can use when you're heading up or down Troy Road.”

    “I hadn't been in this store for a couple of years. I have to say I'm so impressed that I promise I'll be back soon! It was neat, clean, well put together, & prices were really pretty good! Their food prices are competitive with Kroger. A lot of time, Kroger doesn't even have half the items that I went in for. This store really surprised me! Tons of choices including frozen foods, lots of fresh produce and fresh bread & dairy. The staff that were working were so helpful, and pleasant to talk to. Definitely worth the trip if you just want a few items & know Kroger down the road will likely be too busy, with all of the carts for pickup or delivery!”

    “Best dollar store around - and opened the latest! Hopefully corporate Dollar General will turn this one in to a Dollar General marketplace like the one in Fairborn, Ohio on Broad Street. Since Krogers is and has went down and away in the South side of Springfield it has been rather difficult buying groceries clear on the north side only if Springfield for everyone; including us people whom live in Yellow Springs! Dollar General on Yellow Springs Street needs to expand in to the field next door - and or buy the old Krogers store on South limestone and create a Market Dollar General store as WE the customers have NO options as to where to buy our food from! Let's say the options are slim pickings; either north side Krogers or North side Walmart! Clearly we NEED more options we live on the SOUTH side and many consumers like me live outside of the south end of Springfield. We are driving past 2-3 Dollar generals every day to get to Kroger's or Walmart's on the north end ! It makes PERFECT sense 2 invest in us!”

    “Just tried grocery home delivery for the first time and ....wow! I am so pleasantly surprised at how easy and nice this was! I only go to Walmart for some particular items my family asks for that Kroger never has and I needed printer ink so I thought since I can easily spend $50 bucks on that, I'd try home delivery, which just became available in my area. The app isn't confusing but I always screw up something after the fact and apparently they have checked that they can substitute things you order unless you catch that- and uncheck it if you're picky( like me). So I wrote no substitutions and had to after the fact go back and edit no substitutions but I still had one upon delivery. To be completely fair it was 3 times the value of what I ordered and it was just juice for kids so they won't care too much. They just always ask me for the same flavor and they sent me a case of assorted in place of an 8 pack ( juice box). So, I'm not complaining but I just need to be cautious I guess if it's really something important. I asked for delivery between 9a-10a and they texted AND called at 9, we're there within minutes after! Very prompt! After delivery they sent me a request to tip my driver but I had already cash tipped her. She was very polite and no problems there either. All in all a very good experience and the first three times delivery is free with promo code FRUITCAR ( strange promo but saves about $8). I also think it saved me an unknown amount of other money since I am an impulse shopper and this will help that- hurt them, but help me! Definitely will do this again!”

    “Compared to 3 months ago with the firing of the old staff and rehiring of the new staff and cleaning up the old staffs unsanitary habits in order for EACH AND EVERY DEPARTMENT to follow safety and sanitation regulations in order for the community to purchase products that are worthy and safe and quality products and products that are worthy of the safety and sanitationregulations that are implemented by the health department and state and federal requirements. I've worked there for a little over a month. And yes we have had a few hiccups with equipment failures unexpectedly and please believe that we are doing our best in EVERY DEPARTMENT to give the customers and community quality healthy regulation met products to keep yourself and your families healthy. We are just a little short staffed right now and are doing our best to keep the shelves stocked.   • Kroger Pouring $112 Million Into Central Ohio, Including Two New Stores

    Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard. The 118,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late fall 2026 and will create around 250 jobs.

    Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
