Petco
1670 24th Ave NW, NormanI used to be a Petsmart girlie but decided to try Petco this time around since they seemed to carry a few different brands I was interested in purchasing. I found many different treats and toppers for my dog. The toy selection was not what I was looking for but Petco has a nice selection of clothing and accessories for cats and dogs. They also have nice collars and harnesses for all size dogs.
Now Petco can be pricey on certain products but they're always having sales weekly. You can also sign up for the rewards program which helps you earn bucks that you can load to your account to apply to your purchase. They also have a clearance section so make sure you check that out too.
Big shout out to Layne for always recommending different products, tips and tricks I can use on my dog. In fact all of the staff have been pretty friendly and helpful whenever I had questions. Thank you!

I picked up my dog to visit and when I noticed how long his nails were I started calling around and Pretty Puppy Parlor was able to take us in as a walk in and trim my sweet baby’s nails in under 5 minutes. I could not be more thankful for this experience with this business!

It was my chonko kitty's first groomer trip ever, and she wasn't happy. They took the time to soothe her and were very careful to not hurt her. You can tell these people love animals. Definitely going to be a regular here and spread the word. Don't forget your rabies record!!

I don't use their grooming (bad experience) but the store seems clean, pretty well stocked, and most clerks are friendly and seem to really like the pets that come in. We don't get there often as I order from their parent company and the heavy bag of food is delivered to my door.

She is already a different dog than when we started. At our last session my husband even made the comment to Luna "who are you?" Because she has done so well. All the credit goes to Michael. I was able to incorporate the behaviors all 3 of my labs learned at school into our everyday life. They have all been gentle well behaved dogs. The gift she gives each student dog and owner is a start to a wonderful relationship. I feel like the best part of her program is the “magic” or place. My dogs sit on a carpet when we have company or are eating dinner! Anyone who has labs knows this is a miracle. My lab Gabby and I are choosing to do more training we come for lessons and she is teaching me more. More manners, more fitness, more skills. Most of all she is teaching me how to train my dog. Gabby loves learning more ❤️. This is making my relationship better with Gabby and its giving Gabby more freedom and making her life better. I had heard about the boarding program. Its wonderful. When you leave town your trained dog is welcome to stay and board. When you return you have another lesson and see what new skills your dog has learned. This promotes a lifetime of learning and training.

I had the frito chili pie. It was really good and I hate to say anything bad about it. It just needed a bit more chili. Other than that, it tasted and looked like the old fashioned frito pies that are hard to find. It could use a few more onions, as well.
I also went up there for Hot Rod night, but i only looked at the cars. Pictures below.

First, the original reservation was made & then, we called only a couple of days ahead to see if it would be possible to add *7* more and were graciously accommodated. Everything was set up when we arrived & we were greeted warmly despite it being 1pm on the busiest restaurant day of the year. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu & very personable. He chatted & joked with everyone from my preschool aged nieces to my octogenarian grandparents & was able to answer questions about the food easily. The food was excellent & despite the large group, everything arrived promptly & at the same time (especially appreciated with little ones!). Most impressively, despite some picky eaters in the group, not one person's order was incorrect & everyone really liked their food. I also ordered a couple of meals to-go that were packaged nicely & included chips, salsa & queso. Refills, extra sauces, takeout boxes, etc. were all provided promptly as well. I was certainly impressed & expect this to become a go-to place for our family.

Beanstalk Coffee and Sno - Eastside
867 12th Ave NE, NormanI really love beanstalk. Frankly I'm a little ashamed that I've been visiting your place 4 to 5 per week for 2 years now and somehow forgot to do a review any sooner. Wow how time flies.
To the point, yes the food is delicious. Yes the coffee is excellent. However, most importantly of all is the staff. At this point I think I've been served by just about every employee that you've had, including now the owner himself, and you're all the model of what I wish other businesses had. With a little over 10 years of experience in the restaurant industry, and now working in a more corporate industry, I believe the thing that truly differentiates one business from another is the people that make it work. You guys have it. That extra flair that good staff stokes and cultivates. At this point I think I've been to just about every non-chain coffee house in both the OKC and Tulsa metro areas, and it is a really hard tie between Beanstalk in Norman, and Elemental in OKC, for the best in the state.
PS: Your seasonal menu is always off the hook delicious.

I love that they let you take the dogs you are considering for adoption outside to get to know them more privately. I noticed they had a very clean environment and precautions to ensure safety of the animals and guests. It was the best experience I had at an animal shelter and we got to take home a new member of the family who we can spoil and give a great life ? We are absolutely in love with her! I’m glad we decided to adopt here to give this sweet baby the life she deserves.
