I found out my son has a soy allergy and unfortunately the website doesn’t list soy as an allergen so I was stuck going through the ingredients of each item I was looking at. “I purchased madjool dates from here. It didn't say on the box where it is imported from. But the barcode starts with 871 which is for the !sraeI. But when i went to return it, he immidiately accepted and told that it was by mistake and he purchases it from an Arab supplier. He also said that he would not buy it anymore.”

“Food Basics has become one of my go-to grocery stores, and they absolutely deserve five stars. Their prices are consistently some of the best around, especially for everyday essentials, produce, and pantry items. You can really stretch your budget here without sacrificing quality, which is something I appreciate every time I shop.
One thing I’ve noticed — and really like — is that they’re always trying to improve and update their world food section. Every few visits, I spot new items or different brands from various cultures. It shows they’re paying attention to what customers want and are making an effort to offer more variety and representation. It’s great being able to pick up ingredients you don’t always find in regular grocery stores.
Overall, Food Basics offers great value, solid quality, and a steadily growing international selection. They’ve been doing a really good job, and it keeps me coming back. Five stars well deserved!”

“Love this store. Very clean, well lit, efficient checkouts, and kind staff willing to help me out and go the extra mile. Always polite and easy to find.
Delicious bakery items and great selection that some other local stores do not carry. I haven't had it in a while, but the in-store pizza was my favourite - there was a lady working there with a purple streak in her hair that I am convinced made THE BEST pizza and actually listened when I asked for well done pizza.
I really like how they tend to mark down goods instead of throwing them out, good to see less food waste.
Not sure thrilled about the switch from Air Miles loyalty point to their own points program, but that's not within the control of this store.”

We thought that they were out of a product but we asked him. He immediately said he would be right back and he did return with what we needed. He was very polite and made sure we got what we wanted. It’s my go to place when I want fresh meat and it should be everyone’s go to place for fresh meat. Do yourself a favour and go here if you haven’t already. You won’t be sorry.”
