“I went to eat Jjajangmyeon and Jjamppong, but it was run by a Chinese person. I still enjoyed it. The jjamppong was mild and not spicy, and the jjajang tasted like old-fashioned jjajang. The sweet and sour pork was not to my taste as the meat was thick, but the sauce was so sour. Other people eat a lot of mushroom rice bowls and fried rice. I'm going to try soft tofu stew next door. lolThere were a lot of items on sale at the supermarket, so I bought a lot of different things. “A neighborhood gem still nun by a local family, Maselli's has been part of a weekend dinner party since we arrived in Riverdale 30 years ago. Classical Italian staples are front and centre: fresh veal and cheeses in the meantime butcher section, nduja, olives, lemon juice, oils and, of course, fruits and vegetables. Buy some fresh taralli for the walk home. ( They also stock Puroliva shaving supplies from Naples, Best. Shave. Ever.)This is my party shopping happy place, and it packs a really big store into a smaller, intimate space.”
“I come here often during lunch times for their hot meal kitchen. Hands down, Fortinos has the best sandwich bar out of any grocery store in this city. Everything is reasonably priced and artisanal. “Mercator Euro Mini Mart is a GEM we found a few weeks ago while looking for authentic Serbian / European food in North York. They have a fantastic selection of food & goods (ready to-go prepared foods, meat & cheese selections, dry shelf goods (jams, lentils, spices, canned foods), freshly made freezer foods (burek, pita, chevapi, dumplings), desserts, church candles... EVERYTHING!!! This year we decided to have them cater food for our religious day (Slava) during Lent (posna Sarma - Lenten cabbage rolls; posna paprike - Lenten stuffed peppers, and made kolache (Slava bread). Tanja was incredible to deal with, so easy-going and everything was prepared as ordered and tasted delicious!! We had so many compliments. Mnogo hvala!! ?”

I spend way less here than when I was shopping in a big grocery chain store. The couple who own the place are the nicest people ever! An absolute pleasure to shop here!”
“I went here on Wednesday to buy dim sum in the morning. This is my first time trying dimsum and an employee named winnie helped me buy the food because I didn't know some of the dishes. Her English was very good and she explained the type of dumplings and dishes they have. The kitchen deli department is very nice and helpful. The store was also very clean and organized. Will be coming back for more!”

“Stopped in a couple of weeks back - great selection of organic produce as well as plenty of commercial produce. Saw some good honeys and teas too! I picked up a beautiful bunch of celery (organic because that's how I roll) for around 3 bucks and a little passion fruit which wasn't organic because I just wanted it : ))Seriously better organic produce than almost any health store I have seen, and it's not even a health store .. good job!!”

“I was there last week looking to buy chicken legs and some salmon, and the Asian guy working there refused to serve me, he sent me to wait for the seafood guy who was with another customer, after 5 or so minutes it was my turn, he was super polite and knowledgeable . During our conversation I could hear the same Asian employee and another man around the same age start arguing and yelling at each other. I hope the owners put a stop to this, BTW the salmon was great”
“Fantastic experience, fresh produce from the farm, and cheaper than Walmart! Most particularly, the store manager, is absolutely an incredibly kind, caring human who once helped me to get my shopping bags to my car when he saw me struggling with them while looking after my little son. Unbelievably, he even put them in my car, and at the end said "We Care about Our Customers!" Since that day and the beautiful memory he left in my mind, I stopped shopping groceries from any other stores and only buy them from Galati where I am valued, respected, looked after as a customer and I don't buy stale, packaged products from else where. I buy them fresh from the farm and support the local market too while paying less.”
