“Very large variety and kind, knowledgeable staff. Shopped here many times always very happy with my purchases.
Products past their best before date are marked as such and are discounted 25% if not more!!”
“Store is small but was not busy when I was there. Food is prepackaged and frozen. All packages have excellent descriptions and photos of their contents. Prices are also clear and visible. I enjoyed looking at every single product on display. Picked up a nice selection for Easter weekend. Personalized customer service was readily available. Checkout was fast and friendly. Health conscious shoppers will want to examine the product nutrition info because it takes a "lot" of sodium to preserve food.”

“Barrhaven Market is a gem, not only for the wide selection of middle eastern grocery items and the excellent customer service, but also for the delicious buffet whose menu changes daily and is available every day after 11:00 am, which is a great lunch option if you live or work in the neighborhood.”
“Best in town, when I cant find some complex this place never disappoints, the owner is a very nice and humble guy, whos always willing to help you out finding stuff and even special orders.”

“So much to chose from. All amazing options from candy to flour. The store is pretty clean and there aren't lines very often. The staff and friendly, very nice place!”
“One of the best places to shop for your fresh veggies and fruits. Nice variety of breads and cheeses. I like the selection of eggs, and often get my supply of duck or quails eggs. Meat and fish options are also quite good. Lots of organic items, as well.”
“I’ve been coming to this store for many years, never disappointed. It feels like back home when I go there. They have snacks and products from the Middle East. The meat shop is also great. I always tell them what we’re planning to cook and they provide me the perfect meat cut that suits the food we’re preparing.
Thank you for the excellent service.”

“A few months ago, one of my girlfriends and I didn’t know what to have for lunch. We drove past independent and decided to go inside to see what they had going on. We passed by the sandwich section by the front entrance and came across an egg salad sandwich and a roast beef sandwich…. boy oh boy, were we pleasantly surprised. We couldn’t stop talking about how good these sandwiches were. Now, whenever we hang out, do you know where we go? Independent. And what do we always get? An egg salad sandwich and a roast beef sandwich. Let’s just say, to whoever makes these sandwiches, you’ve changed our lives for the better and we hope both sides of your pillow are always cold.”

“Don't normally shop here, but Loblaws stopped carrying the Pure Life Peach Iced Tea, and I can only find it at Metro now. One of the managers Ian was extremely helpful and nice. I could shop at any Metro, but I'd rather shop here where the staff obviously values their customers.”
“I would definitely recommend this store for groceries. I would recommend to refer weekly flyer to know about good deals. Also if you have Scene+ account then you can earn points on grocery purchase and redeem them in-store later on. Two most important points I want to share.1) If you have Scotia bank AMEX card then you could get 6x points on groceries that would be 6% back on every purchase.2) Store offers price match, so if some of the items are priced higher as compared to other grocery stores so in that case you can do Price match and take benefit of it.”
“I think this place the best selection for most things among all the halal stores in town (lots of exotic drinks/sweets, huge tea/coffee aisle -they also have light-roasted Gulf coffee!)
What surprised me was that they have inexpensive small hookah pipes. Much smaller and cheaper than the ones you find at dedicated hookah stores.”
“My weekly grocery shopping where I find pretty much everything. Great options, found everything I needed for Thanksgiving dinner! It was excellent ? Affordable and very helpful staff! I always find my Italian specialties like cold cuts, pastas, tartufo (gelato).”
“I have been a customer of Loblaws for 25 years and always liked the store and the brands. The last few years though, the prices have gone up faster than other nearby groceries stores. I have a feeling I am not the only one as it is never busy. There are still good 50% off deals to be found though, but some of the food basics are cheaper at other stores. For example, Loblaws charges $15 a kg for mushrooms, while the competition charges $10. Tofu is $3.98 at Loblaws and the exact same tofu is $2.98 at the competition. The store also has become a lot quiter the last 2 years.”

“Good fresh produce and their prices for many items are better than Loblaws although the Loblaws is bigger and has more selection. And getting Scene points for buying your groceries is a bonus.”

“I'm pleasantly surprised. Bright and very clean store with nicely displayed products. The promotional prices were competitive and in line with other local discount stores. I was impressed by the wide range of products, which also include higher quality items. I've been avoiding Loblaws for several months due to their high prices, but this NoFrills I will be visiting from time to time.”
“Sometimes am in the area it's nice to stop in after a long ng day at work they have lots a new fun ideas I'll stop in someday soon to see more great shopping experiences ?”
