“We went there recently, and had THE BEST customer experience I have had in a shop in ages. Having been a retail manager for a premium brand in the past- I know what quality of care feels like in an in-store experience and let me tell you, this staff member Kelsey went ABOVE and beyond for us. I have no affiliation with this store, more so, it was my first time shopping there in person I usually order online or buy my vans through a discount shoe brand. So I took my super picky husband to this shop just with the intention of browsing. We had been to every shop in the whole mall searching for shoes and not only is he picky, but he’s also extremely cheap too. Well, after being in this shop- we felt instantly at ease and Kelsey was sooo good with our daughter who was not super jazzed about shopping for someone other than herself - lolz but as soon as Kelsey gave her a cool VANS sticker she was soo delighted and on her best behaviour (good job, knowing how to deal with kids!). So my husband, because of the customer support ended up trying on mannnny pairs of vans and picked two pairs that he really liked. But, because he’s cheap we had to think about it and make sure he checked every last store to make sure that this was the deal he wanted to go for. He intended on buying just one pair of shoes …. But because of the way she was seriously like “no worries if you want to think about it and go grab a bite and decide they’re not for you that’s totally okay there’s no pressure at ALL” and they were literally the ONLY person in that entire mall that 1- greeted us when we walked in, 2- was super engaged but not hovering while we looked 3- didn’t get weird about us asking her to try on sooo many different styles and while he was picking and they were helping us she stood by and didn’t walk away making it hard to find her to ask her for a different pair to try 4- she knew her stuff and was super knowledgeable about the brand, also mentioning how it was gender neutral and I liked that a lot 5- she wasn’t pushy, she didn’t get weird when we left to grab food before making a choice 6- when we came back our daughter was holding some items that she got at a different shop and Kelsey walked up and offered our little girl a mini vans paper bag to put her other items which was totally cute and made her feel amazing, walking around with her mini bag on her arm like a purse! What a stand out experience. So much so that I am here reviewing a store which I NEVER DO, this is because this shop associate deserves the recognition for a job well done! Not only was she able to help me get my husband to finally buy himself new shoes after years, he got two pair which was totally amazing! Thank you for your super great attitude and fun experience! I’m already planning to return this week to buy my son a new pair for school! Yay VANS but most importantly, I hope they realize they have a GEM with this employee!!!!”

I came in thinking I knew exactly what I wanted, but the employee who helped me listened to some off-handed comments I made and recommended a few other styles accordingly. I’ll be honest, I mainly humored them to be nice, but it turned out they were spot on with their recommendations and I ended up choosing a pair I never would’ve found myself. My new shoes are so comfortable and cool, I’m really glad I came into the store instead of just ordering something online!”

“So first of all I'd like to start with. What a great location. Exceptionally a great customer service at its utmost best. Out of all the locations at Tanger outlets that I visited. This was by far the only one that was clean, friendly and inviting. The three staff members in there said hello to me right away. Ask me how my day was and if I needed it and with anything. All the other locations ignored me or spent time having conversations with their friends. But this was the least concerning it was the vulgar language and disgusting behavior under staff members. I'm not saying you need to visit here, but if you're looking for a friendly face, a nice smile and someone genuinely interested in asking how your day is. This is that from the spot that you want to be. Congratulations to the three people working in journeys today on December 18th 2025.”
“Today I had the pleasure of dealing with Bernard. Benard was patient and professional even though this Sunday was busy. He deserves 5 stars ?. The reason for a 4 star review instead of perfect score, was due to the fact that there was a short squabble with the employees working in that store. Sam ( a manager) was vocally telling Bernard to follow orders and she was exerting her authority over him. The manner she had done it was degrading to Bernard and it was done in front clients. I just think she needs proper managing training. Just my two cents.”

“This is an honest establishment with good people. A very expensive bag was left in this store at the Tanger Outlet mall and despite the time in which the bag was left unattended, and the numerous customers entering and exiting the store, all of the bag’s contents were safely returned to their owner. “I’m a frequent shopper and the staff is always kind and respectful. Good selection of shoes at the right price. There’s a seating area almost everywhere in the store and the clearance section is so spacious. There’s always a staff member to help me. It’s also incredibly organized and I love how they have all their sizes out on the sales floor to try on so I don’t have to wait 5 minutes for an associate to pull a size from the backroom. Also, there are so many sales; Clark’s shoes 40% off?! Naturalizers half off?!
The return policy is very generous as well; 60 days if you’re a “VIP insider” and 365 days if you’re a “VIP influencer.”
When I created my account with them they just needed a phone number and email and I got free shipping on all online orders. They have 5 stores in Ottawa and when I spoke to the manager she told me they had over 100 throughout the country and I could literally make returns and get rewards at all stores.
They have an amazing charity too, Souls4Souls, where you get points for every pair you donate (only 1 pair a day). I’ve had at least $300 worth of rewards stored in my account at one point because of all the old shoes I gave away to their charity! It’s not just this location; every one of their stores has a donation box!
The only downside I can think of is that if you’ve worn your shoes outside they won’t accept them for a return or exchange. They made an exception for me once and they made it very clear that it would be the only time. I wouldn’t try fighting with the staff over something like that, it’s just not worth it.
An associate informed me, to save a trip, to browse a style on their website and then call one of their stores to see if they have it on the floor. They’d check which stores have it and put it on hold for you.
This rewards program is probably one of the simplest and most beneficial rewards program of all the shoe retailers I’ve been too.”
