“Nice, clean, convenient but small. The store has a decent meat section and surprisingly a lot of house plants for the size of the location.
This is not the place to load up on fresh fruits and veggies, but you can certainly get enough for two or three meals for a small family.
There are no bulk items and sparse health and beauty products.
They do sell alcohol, but I didn't look at the available selection. At a glance, it seemed like a fair amount.
There is paid parking on both sides of the street. The lot on the side of Trader Joe's is free. They validate it at checkout.
The customer service was friendly, a nice surprise these days.?

“This store is a gem. The tea selection is better than Better Health. They carry gluten free flours and the specialty sauces I need to drive to Troy to the Asian food stores for. Years back it was the bulk candy aisle that I loved, but now I appreciate the baking supplies and random shipments of Mackinaw Island fudges and McClure's pickles.”

“This is definitely one of my go to spot that I had to visit. This is an African-American owned grocery store, which is something you don’t see a lot of unless it’s like Caribbean or African immigrant American. This location had an awesome vibe, and it also had a message which was empowering the community and empowering the youth. Not only did they offer fresh vegetables from local farms, but they also offered classes to the youth for learning Spanish and martial arts. May Allah bless the owner of this grocery store and all that support him.”

My only criticism is Paige the cashier needs to understand that she is being paid to be there and to not treat her customers as an inconvenience. She got frustrated they she had to put her phone away to help me and was rolling her eyes at me throughout the interaction.”
“Yesterday my mother and I drove to Canada to have a mommy daughter day. We have not have real Jamaican products in a long time. Therefore we stop at Sunshine Grocers. Let me tell you my mom and I felt we were back home in Jamaica. I saw so many food I grew up eating and my mom so fruits she been looking for every times she travel places. She found many of them at this Grocery store. My mom wanted to take a case of different fruits back with us cross the border. But we didn't know the rule. The nice lady helped us by telephoning her son for us to speak with him to find out what was allowed to go back to Detroit. Thank you mam, that was really nice of you! This store will be fore sure our number one store when visiting Canada!”
