The staff is knowledgeable and genuinely invested in pet health; they were a huge help in identifying the right food for my dog’s specific dietary needs. They also have a great selection of high-quality products for both my dog and cat. It’s clear they are either pet owners themselves or very passionate about animal care. If you need advice on specialized food or just want a great selection, this is a great local spot.”

“I can’t recommend Back to the Bone highly enough. At the end of 2021 we were bringing home a puppy for the first time in 13 years. Although we had previously raw fed our dogs, I was nervous starting a puppy on raw. Dan and his wonderful staff eased my fears and got us started on Raw Performance.Sam is now a thriving 17 month old, 70 lb German Shorthaired Pointer.In addition, the folks at Back to the Bone have helped when I had all sorts of questions and fears. We drive from Brampton to go to Back to the Bone because I am proud to support this business. You should too.”
“Our experience at The Urban Zoo with Janna and Alanna was outstanding! We drove all the way from North Bay after researching the best grooming and boarding services. One of our conures is a rescue bird and very easily frightened, but Janna was able to expertly and calmly groom her and do a general wellness check. We got a DNA test done for our other conure, and it was done safely and quickly.
Janna and Alanna were kind, reassuring, and I really enjoyed talking to them about avian care. I also loved seeing the happy parrots hanging out in the store and being silly!
ABSOLUTELY worth the 4 hour drive to know our parrots are in safe, capable hands. Thank you!”
“Great pet shop. Well kept with great selection of healthy quality cat foods. Trying to transition my kittys from dry to wet food. After researching foods with healthy natural ingredients, I located what I was looking for here. Owner helped me out with my requirements. I found him to be caring and knowledgeable about the well being of my cats. I intend to make this my go to pet store. I suggest you do the same and try it out!”

“Loved this place and the staff were fantastic! The only reason it doesn't get five stars from me is the prices. I got two front mats for my car and they were quite expensive. They're very nice mats which are custom fitted to my car and installation was simple but I just can't get over the price. I paid it willingly and got exactly what I went for and again, the staff were friendly and helpful, as well as the store being well put together. 😀”

Our boy came in with a sibling and Trish helped us connect with them. Doug and the BHS team hosted us on site for a sibling meet up and were so kind and generous with their time and were genuinely happy to see the pups together.

“I don’t usually leave reviews, but I wanted to recognize one employee who always stands out. Every time I come into this Pet Valu, there’s a blonde girl with tattoos whose hair is always up in a bun and she’s honestly amazing. I don’t know her name, but she’s always working so hard. No matter when I come in, she’s helping customers, answering questions, stocking shelves, carrying heavy bags of pet food, or running the cash. Even when the store is busy, she stays friendly and makes everyone feel welcome. She’s helped me a few times, and she’s always been patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. It’s refreshing to see someone who actually seems to care about the customers and their pets instead of just trying to get through their shift. I really hope management knows who I’m talking about because she deserves to be recognized. Employees with her work ethic are hard to come by these days. If anyone deserves a promotion, it’s her. She represents Pet Valu so well and is one of the main reasons I enjoy shopping here.”
