Mud Bay
110 NW Sisemore St, BendI just had a great experience at this Mud Bay. I didn't catch their names, but the two ladies working (12pm 6/16) were prime examples of Mud Bay culture.
As someone who knows the Mud Bay culture really well, (former employee) I was impressed that those two Muddies really represented what Mud Bay is supposed to be all about.
I had only been into this store one time before. The experience was absolutely disappointing and I really didn't want to come back in after that. If I wrote a review after that visit, I would have given Mud Bay a one star review.
It has been two or three years since I last visited the store. I took a chance and went in to check out products.
Within less than 30 seconds I was welcomed in by a warm friendly face. I was asked if there was anything I needed help with. I was just looking to browse at that moment, but I noticed the Muddies were still attentive and ready to help at any moment. The check out process was great. A Muddy immediately stepped to the register. She asked the typical questions retail employees ask to make sure the customer had a good visit. But she also was more friendly and personable She went the extra mile.
I wasn't planning on saying anything about my negative experience, but the ladies were so nice that I wanted to share with them how much I appreciated them for providing the excellent Mud Bay experience that should be a dependable thing when shopping at Mud Bay.
Both ladies were sympathetic about my last trip and thanked me for giving Mud Bay another chance. I was even given enough sample treats for my four giant breed dogs. Last time I asked for enough samples for each dog. My question was sort of swept to the side and I received one Biscuit as a sample treat. ??
Anyway, I know this review is getting way too long. I'm just really happy with my experience and had to share. Those two ladies definitely made up for it. I think they deserve a raise. ?

Bendy Dog
224 NW Oregon Ave, BendOn trips, I always have to bring something home for the family and that especially includes the pup! A friend of mine met up with me with a bag of goodies from here so he took me back to do the same. Bendy Dog is a nice little pet shop in downtown Bend, on a street with other fun little shops and restaurants. They're mostly open during the day and sell toys, harnesses/leashes, food, and treats. Prices I felt were high but reasonable for a small shop and good quality items. I was recommended a bag of bison liver treats and thought the pup would enjoy them. I had no idea they would make him go nuts whenever I open the bag! I like that it was a local company from Colorado and they were fresh. If you're looking for a fun pet shop in Bend, this is a great spot.

Bend Pet Express & Dog Wash
420 NE Windy Knolls Dr, BendWe picked up the Spindrift No Pull Harness, made by this store in Bend. They are amazing and well thought out. We’ve had trouble fitting harnesses because of the deep chest on Poodle, but standard martingales would choke my youngest who is still a puller. The design of the spindrift harnesses gives so many points of adjustment they fit both of my poodles who have significantly different builds. And they work fabulously for communicating leash pressure without causing discomfort like others we’ve tried. Very happy with them so far, although the silky material does seem prone to a little snagging. I’ll have to keep an eye out how fast they wear down. Either way, we’ll probably just get another one because I’m they impressed!

The Pet Salon of Bend
875 SE 3rd St, BendToday was the first time we used Pet Salon of Bend, and we couldn't be happier. We have searched groomers and their reviews for weeks, and settled on Terri. She has some great pictures on her website and we used a couple of those to show her what we wanted and then Terri asked us some important questions about our little guy - things we never would of thought to ask but were really important. Jack came home smelling great with a perfect cut and most importantly he was happy! Not stressed or upset, he had energy and you could tell he felt so good and pampered. Jack doesn't like getting his legs brushed or groomed, Terri noticed and still did a great job on his legs and feet. He doesn't particularly like to be put into a kennel when he's done either, like his old groomer use to do and when my husband got there to pick him up, he was sound asleep, laying on the floor next to Terri as she groomed another dog! We have absolutely found our new groomer!

Our goldendoodle has seen Dr. Jess Casey for routine exams and a few acute illnesses and every time we’ve been in, we feel so cared for her and the rest of the staff. We’ve reached out for last minute appointments and Brittany and the support staff have accommodated us with same or next day appointments and great follow-up support. Dr. Casey truly takes her time, offers both conventional and alternative treatments, and looks at symptoms through a very balanced and holistic lens. We’ve noticed significant improvements in our pup’s health particularly with her digestion. Our pup is normally very nervous at the vet but she’s been much more comfortable going to Elevate and they make every effort to help animals feel calm and comfortable. Plus, they have the best treats our pup loves! Thank you, Elevate!

The training course was thorough and approachable, with friendly instructors. My dog loves going to daycare and I feel very confident leaving him there for the day. Unlike many other daycare facilities, they have a protocol for easing your dog into daycare, and assess for temperament and other factors before just sending your dog off into a herd. You can also tell that they just really love dogs here, and enjoy what they do!

Kindred Spirit Pet Care
60742 Bristol Way, BendI couldn't be happier to have found Martina and Kindred Spirit. My corgi gets 1 1/2 hour group hikes daily and gets to hang out with a pack of small dogs. Larger dogs are in a separate section of the yard and house and Neil gives them lots of love and exercise. I love that my corgi can roam around all day and leaps out of the car and races to Martina when I drop her off!

Tim met the dogs (and the handlers!) where they were while ensuring everything ended on a positive note. We appreciated his gentle hand and commend him for offering multiple ways to follow through with a drill for the handler to understand it's goal. I'll be back with my spaniel again, as well as my golden.

I was able to get a sausage served on top of gluten free fries instead of a bun, and still have the toppings and sauce. It was tasty. The staff was friendly and service was quick. The only drawback was parking. Their parking lot is TERRIBLE!

The meat was tender and perfectly spiced with a slow heat that lingered on the palate. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. The avocado was luscious. The bowl included a seasoned rice and black beans. The portion was huge. I would 100% recommend!!

The tasting room is cozy and has a great vibe, the staff are friendly and cool, nice food trucks and of course fantastic beer. The focus on authentic German style lagers is a welcome departure from the typical PNW fare and the brewer nailed it, the Helles is super clear and crisp.

I had the $12 Reuben ~ a different presentation on a hoagie roll, though it was a marbled rye roll, but it was amazing, and it really hit the spot. Paired with a refreshing lager ice cold from the taphouse. It does get pretty busy there, so finding a seat in the later afternoon can be challenging.

The person behind the counter was so sweet and friendly. 10/10 for the service, cider and the wonderful outdoor area where you can sit and relax while you drink cider. They do concerts and other small shows there too. You won't regret coming to this spot!

Aina Kauai Style grill
1424 NE Cushing Dr, BendWe had our son at St. Charles, and during the pregnancy my wife kept talking about how much she was craving Aina’s poke. Right after he was born, the first thing she said was that she wanted Aina.
I called in an order for pickup and mentioned we were at the birthing center and would be there in just a few minutes. When my sister-in-law went to pick it up, she came back and told me they had comped the entire meal.
That meant a lot to us in such a special moment. It was our first time trying Aina, and the food absolutely lived up to the hype. It definitely won’t be our last.

The space is cozy and inviting and the staff was so welcoming and kind. The wines were also outstanding. We will absolutely be back next time we are in Bend. Everything in the food is fresh and very well-made. The people who work here are friendly and care about the service they provide.. My omelette had lots of fresh vegetables in it and tasted amazing. Not to mention the atmosphere being by far the most beautiful in town.
My server was James and he Went out of his way to do a good job and make sure everyone was taken care of. He was friendly, And made you feel at home.
I cannot say enough about the McKay Cottage. If you want a beautiful classy place to go with excellent service and food prepared as if you went to a five star restaurant, you should visit the MCay Cottage.

1444 NW College Way, BendDined a few nights ago, and I’m still thinking about the cassoulet. I was happy to see it on the menu as it’s definitely a comfort food in Toulouse, and I’m moving there soon. Having a little taste of my second home in Bend was so wonderful. The baguette it was paired with was perfect. As were the croquettes we started with. I will say, the lemon tartelette was good, but the curd was under-set.
Service & ambiance was excellent, we will be back!

Each time I go, I am greeted warmly and given some basic instructions, then I get to play with a bunch of the cutest kitties around. If you are someone who loves hanging out with cats (or are looking to adopt), this is the spot to go. I cannot recommend them enough. 20 bucks for almost an hour of love and snuggles is worth it every time.
