“I recently had the privilege of stopping by for a coffee and a cake, I opted for the apple cheesecake and it was amazing, this was my first time visiting Astoria and should I get the opportunity to do it again I will be swinging by Gaetanos for sure”

“Plenty of vegan options. The burrito bar has vegan el pastor, vegan cheese, cashew crema, and all the fixins. Ours turned out very good - Not quite hot enough, but filling and flavorful. They also have vegan soup/salad, grab and go foods, and your usual assortment of vegan snacks and dairy alternatives.”

“Came for the carrot cake based on reviews and was fairly underwhelmed. The copious frosting was great as I love frosting but the cake lacked any real flavor. The macaroon on the other hand was amazing! I'll be back for macaroons and to try other items for sure.”

“One of the last chain natural food stores to hold a pure line on no price-jacking, quality organic foods, coatings on produce, etc even as other chains and co-ops have started raising their prices unreasonably and sold out to conglomerate distributes foodstuffs. And, NG always has friendly / helpful staff.”

“The woman working there, turned me on to the candy Cow Tales, specifically the caramel apple flavor. Now I'm hooked ? lol
It's a very nice small town store. It has a little bit of everything.”

“What a pleasant little store.
Stopped by on the way back home (Vancouver, WA) to grab some snacks for the road. The store had so much to choose from.
I found a delicious craft soda I never tried before. It's made by Bear 'n Beaver & the flavor was Orange Creamsicle.
I have a sensitivity to dyes, so I don't get to have much flavored sodas. This was delicious! No synthetic dyes.
There was a lot to choose from in the store.
The lady working was helping someone when we walked in, but took time to say hello.
She is super sweet & said to stop by again. I love little places with nice people.
Clean store too.”

“I love this store. Don't listen to bad reviews. This store is for professionals and bulk purchases for household use. Many ingredients are not available in a regular grocery store. The staff is great and have been there for a couple of decades. I love this store.”

“Second lowest prices in the area, regular is maybe about 6 cents more expensive than Costco. However, UNLIKE Costco your only option is not to fill up your tank with a card. You can pay cash or card, and if you go to the booth at the center of the station you can prepay a set amount. So, if you just want $35 instead of a fill you can go to the booth, pay for $35 on your pump and then fill up with that. That's especially nice for people who use debit cards, since when you do a fill it usually places a $125 pre-authorization hold on your card, which some banks release immediately and some take a few days to release. So, for people who use debit cards this is big. Costco down the road is a little less expensive but you'll have that pre-authorization hold mentioned, which may not be worth it for some. Especially if you're not trying to fill your tank but just put some fuel in it to get you down the road. The employees are quite helpful when I was there the last few times. I would have no issues coming here again.”

“Sids is the best hometown grocery store, I love it. It has prices that are to be expected in a small town, yet it will always put things on sale, pertaining to the weekend, ie chips, pop, hotdogs etc, for 4th of July. The closest chain grocery store is about 20 miles, and you will travel into Oregon to get there. Sids has new owners and they have changed it, quite a bit. A lot more options now.”

“With a view of a great mural on the side of the building next door, what a great place to have an excuse to stop! A couple of bikers from Portland OR so kindly pumped my gas for me (a paraplegic old grandma) when I had to stop with just a whisper of fumes left in my tank. How good that there are such good people in the world.”

“In August 2025, we visited the Safeway grocery store in Astoria, Oregon. This Safeway store is adjacent to the East Astoria Boat Ramp, and we were able to buy some groceries and fuel up our truck and boat at favorable prices. This Safeway location is clean, well-maintained, and has a well-organized store layout. We had an enjoyable and memorable boating and fishing trip to Astoria, Oregon on the Columbia River.”

“Almost died here of heat stroke, but we didn't get kidnapped and because of that I'll be forever grateful. Also had amazing chocolate hostess donuts that I ate up while cooling down from almost dying in the parking lot. I bought 3 bags. Love the hostess donuts.”

“This is my favorite gas station in Oregon. Their cinnamon-clove seasonings accent the flavor of their quality gas. You can mix it with Oreos for a delicious desert.”

“I've been staying in a hotel close to this store the last few days while visiting and have been happy with them. The staff have been pleasant and helpful. I've gone in each morning for coffee and it's been fresh each and every day. I've also popped in and grabbed a couple Mike's 'hard' drinks or Modelo's in the single cans and they're plenty cold. Average prices for the area from what I've seen. Very pleased!”
