“I have taken a couple of different cars to Re-born over the last 2 years, and they have been very professional, deliberate, and thorough each time. My initial visit to Re-born was through insurance and a theft recovery. While they were working on the theft recovery issues I had them also do some additional work that was non theft related and they did all of it professionally and with kindness. The other cars that’s I’ve brought in have been a couple of new cars I’ve been fortunate enough to acquire and they’ve taken good care of those cars as well. Hans and the team are very communicative, and usually pretty timely as well. They ask for explicit authorization before performing any services, often with a super convenient online system that doesn’t require you to be on the phone or in the shop in order to authorize it. As far as pricing goes, I feel like the old adage holds up well here… cheap work isn’t good and good work isn’t cheap. Having said that, I have never felt like they are trying to screw me over or string me along and make extra repairs just for the sake of making extra money. They will often flag items that ‘could’ be done without the hard ball sales tactics that make you feel forced to make them, especially if they aren’t safety related issues. I am super grateful to have found a mechanic I feel like I can trust and have talk to me straight and not dodge questions and try and go straight for my wallet. I plan on returning to Re-born as long as I need to.”

“Every so often you find a business that exceeds your expectations. That was my experience this week at Cookes brake service on Southeast Belmont and 46th. Our 2001 Ford F-150 pickup was making disturbing metal on metal sounds from the front brakes. I rang the company and Dan said bring it on in. I had to ask now on a Friday you have an opening! That was what a great business impression number one. Dan informed me would be about an hour for them to troubleshoot the problem. 30 minutes later Dan rang with the diagnosis front pads worn to the warning bars thus the grinding tone. And the discs had already been turned once and if they turned them again would go below spec. Price to repack the bearings, bleed and recharge the brake fluid, New discs new pads was a reasonable cost and it would be done by 2:30 a few hours later. Pat rang at 2:30, work completed! I encourage you to give Cookes a try Great service great and honest assessment at a competitive price.”

Almost all my repairs I’ve found to be anywhere from 10%-50% cheaper, almost none of them took more than a day, and he’ll tell you if something NEEDS to be fixed now or not and try and work with you.
