“I bought one Groupon for five people for a 30- minute lesson and 60-minutes of shooting as a Christmas gift to family. Since so many family members were interested, I ended up buying a second time slot for at full price. We were supposed to have two separate time slots, but I was called about a week before because they needed to combine the two groups. Worked out great! All ten shooters got to see everyone else shoot, and be all together. There were three of us that planned on watching due to numbers, as we actually had a total of 13 family members, but because 3 individuals needed a few breaks, one of the watchers was also able to get in some quality shooting time. That was even our instructor’s suggestion! Brandon was incredibly good at teaching. He was also extremely patient with our young, middle-aged, to one senior wild bunch. I was the photographer, and I think I had as much if not more fun than everyone else. Such a cool place!”
“An amazing evolution of a disc golf store, decades in the making. Locally owned and operated by the quintessential frisbee family. Phenomenal store, incredible staff, deeply stocked, huge variety. Try your hands at the techdisc, as its commuters analyze your throwing characteristics, and lets you simulate different results from different molds and throwing parameters! Brody and Valerie and the staff are awesome, too.”

“I love this place!!! I love the quality products and the gi selection. They know what's up when it comes to jiu jitsu products, you'll only run into quality stuff here. They don't corner cut and buy basic cheap to make a profit. The prices are beyond reasonable and fair for what you're getting. I love supporting an actual brick and mortar dojo shop. “If I could give this place 10 stars I would. This one of my favorite Portland businesses and is hands down my favorite local bike shop.I have steel and aluminum gravel bikes that need servicing throughout the year. When I first moved to Portland, I relied a lot on larger shops like River City Bicycles. After finding the Golden Pliers I am not going anywhere else. The experience could not be more different than the larger shops in all of the best ways.1. This is the best service you'll find in town. The folks here do an amazing job speaking with you about your bike, explaining the mechanics, and answering any and all questions with kindness and patience. No gatekeeping here. Every time I've brought a bike in with an issue, they've taken the time to walk me through the entire process of fixing it. As a hands-on learner with limited bike knowledge, this has been a huge learning experience.2. Every time I bring a bike in, someone stops what they are doing and starts chatting with me about what I need. Every single time, they have put my bike on the stand and sent me on my way with all the work I needed done in a short time frame.3. Huge wealth of knowledge among all of the folks here. I've seen them servicing everything from brand new full-suspension mountain bikes to old steel racing bikes. I'm confident I can bring anything here and it will be taken care of.4. Price structure is very affordable and transparent.5. The vibes can't be beat. Beer, coffee, records, product collaborations, and art. Such a beautiful and well-made space.This place inspires you to spend more time on your bike. Well done to everyone there.”
“If, like me, you need snow gear but aren't going to the slopes every weekend of winter, this is your place to shop. You have to have patience for a bit more chaos than your Nordstrom Rack or Ross Dress for Less, however. There are no neat rows, only a rabbit warren of windy paths. If you manage to thrash your way through the puffers and baclavas, you'll find incredible deals though. My son was coming to town to ski and I bought us each ski bibs for a mere 30 bucks each. In the chaos, however, I grabbed a women's XL rather than a men's for myself, which would not fit when I got home. No matter though, the Gen Z staff was super helpful and chill with the return.”

“To be quite honest the store is a little cluttered with low stock but Walt is a very kind, honest and upfront owner. He is very nonjudgemental and outgoing and he is also very highly knowledgeable in firearms. He is also able to do a good amount of gun smithing needs with quality equipment and can give you advice about firearms, attachments and even gear/kit. Walt did a red dot install for me for an Acro P2 and told me to check it after 500 rounds in case it wiggled, zeroed it in an I ran 1150 rounds in the past few weeks and his work shows for itself. He glued the threads down carefully. I also dropped my Glock out of my holster and it landed on the edge of the optic with no damage or knocking off my zero. This is defiantly a place I’d support locally. I’ll be back brother. See you soon. -Jimmy”

“I have ordered from the Paddle Palace 4 times since our office has gotten serious about pong. I call the paddle palace occasionally just to talk about what I might need in a paddle. All of our office members who play have become fans of the Paddle Palace. We always receive our gear in a timely manner, the service and support is great, the products are the best available, and the catalog is amazing. For the people who get on here and complain about playing on-site and getting their butts whooped, grow up a bit.. anyways, nothing but love for the paddle palace.”

“I went to mountain shop to rent skis. I had a great experience! I was expecting them to be out of rentals (because it's a busy weekend), but they still had lots of stuff in stock. Our attendant was helpful in determining my boot size & pole length. He was super friendly and helpful. It was only $30 for a 2 night rental! I thought this was a great deal. Also - make sure you go in person, sometimes the website doesn't show all the rental information.”

I have purchased several rackets from this shop over the last 5 years. As a coach at a high school, I send all my kids here to buy their rackets. I would recommend checking them! “Made a Yelp account just to leave this review. I called in on 3/30/2024 about some last-minute items I needed to grab before Easter. The manager Kyle answered the phone - he did some price checks for me and was incredibly helpful. When I got into the store, Kyle remembered me from my phone call. He directed me to Matthew and Connor to help me find the items I was looking for. I could tell these guys knew what they were talking about, and I could tell they genuinely enjoyed their jobs. Truly a 5/5 star transaction, and I will definitely be coming back to give them my business.”
