“It's like a little museum! It's a great place for cautious naturalists, as sustainability is part of their mission statement. Prices are honestly not bad, and the selection is always changing. Also a great place for rare and carnivorous plants. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Either location is a Portland must-see, in my opinion!”

“Wow! I bought an item from this store online (I live in another state) that that was offered by lots of other vendors but I could never find in a brick and mortar store. I chose Betsy and Iya because I grew up in Portland and like to give small businesses a leg up when I can. Not only did the item arrive sooner than promised a few weeks ago, I just received a separate hand-written note of thanks from one of the staff. I 100% will be doing business with them again!”
“This salon came recommended by my sister (a client), and so after moving to Portland I booked a haircut with Jazz -- on a Sunday, no less. She was super sweet and gave me a great cut. I was impressed at how careful she was to make sure that everything was exactly how I wanted. A consummate professional! After discovering that the salon now does color, I booked another appointment with Doyle for partial highlights (I'm trying to lighten my hair color gradually). He did an absolutely amazing job and my hair actually feels better than it did before, very healthy and natural looking. Doyle is a color expert, but also does cuts (he works at salons and fashion shows all over the world, not to mention significant charity work to empower individuals who have faced difficult life challenges). I highly recommend both Jazz and Doyle to anyone who is looking for a fantastic cut and/or color! (I'm sure everyone else at the salon is great, too, but my only experience has been with them, and I already have follow-up appointments booked!)”

I do wish they have more plus size options. (They have some) but, I think they’d be very successful carrying more plus items.
I’ve talked to many people about this store and the ONLY concern is carrying more size exclusive shirts! Not sure how that goes when you wholesale clothes for businesses but I think it’d make the boutique 1000% better being all size exclusive.”

“The people who work here are so nice! I thought I'd take advantage of the no sales tax in Oregon, so I took myself shopping since the Nordstrom near me in OC have very snooty sales associates. I wasn't picky, I knew what I wanted, in, out, easy peasy. The associates were very accommodating in helping me get everything and weren't pretentious unlike Chanel across the way. The associates in Chanel looked like they didn't even want to be bothered with me and only one smiled at me because he saw I was actually making some purchases, so that's when I took my patronage over to Gucci. I have a Gucci bag back home that I've loved for years, so I the answer was easy. Love this location!”

“We purchased my husband's wedding suit at Mario's and it was one of the best choices we could have made! We worked with Donne, but everyone was so supportive whenever we came in. Donne gave us the confidence to go with a fabric that we liked, but weren't sure about after only seeing a small swatch. Everyone loved it, including us! The tailoring was impeccable; the dinner jacket and pants fit like a glove. Afterwards, my uncle went out and bought a jacket in a similar color because he liked the look so much. Donne even helped us to make a bolder choice for shoes. Thank you Mario's and Donne. Dan looked and felt amazing. We couldn't have done it without you!”

This is the only clothing store I’ll let my wife drag me to. And while the clothing is expensive, it is very well made and interesting. You only need a few pieces to make your wardrobe pop.
