We love this shop so much. It's our go-to stop for special gifts for people we love. I - and my kids - can always find great gifts. I love that inclusivity is a mainstay of the brand.

We saw beautiful art at Case Study and the baristas directed us over to Citizen Ruth to see more of the artist’s work. The staff was very friendly and the store has so much to look at. The mugs were probably our favorite.

I am so obsessed with everything in this store. The person working was so so nice to us, the prices were insanely reasonable for everything you see, and the vibes are just great!! I can't wait to come back when I have more spending money.
Citizen Ruth is a queer-owned gift shop in The Alberta Arts district. It is filled with unique art and gifts for anyone with a sense of humor and a sense of justice. Their in-house brand is filled with nostalgic and extremely current pop culture references while still strongly focusing on political activism. Focusing on local and marginalized makers, Citizen Ruth always delivers a uniquely Portland experience, a “must see” for queer travelers and locals alike. Dogs encouraged and revered.
