“Quaint little shop with books stacked to the ceiling with nooks and crannies to sit and browse the selection. The owners are very sweet and helpful. I have spent a lot of time and money here. The prices are all over the place, but it seems to average at $6-$10 per paperback, if it's a popular series it will certainly be near $10 or higher. I recently traded a series of books and was shocked by the store credit I received. I traded a new series of popular books that are hard to get second hand. The series is so new it's still being sold in big book stores for $60. I received $1 store credit per book. I couldn't even get an older $6 paperback I found with that credit. I understand that's how they make money but I am still disappointed. I will now only come here to buy used. I would have rather donated to the library for that price, that way I could at least check them out again.”

“I ordered a used book from them online. The book came in great condition, they've followed written instructions.

Packaging was great. They taped the sheets that wrapped the hardcover book to the inside of the box so it stays in place. These little details go a long way, especially if the item is shipped internationally through a forward shipping company.

Amazing communication, great team.

Thank you Book Exchange.

Highly Recommend them.”

“This is a lovely locally-owned bookstore. All the new books, books on Oregon, coloring books, and lots lots more!
Browse without being bothered. Ask a question. Chat it up. It's all good in Bloomsbury's.
Check out the interactive children's section if you have your little ones with you.

“I will be traveling in Austria and Slovenia this fall. Customer support was above and beyond. I got plenty of books to choose from and links to maps that weren't in stock. In addition. relevant travel advice from associate's experience.”

“This is my favorite bookstore in Medford. Emmalee and Victoria are great to deal with and I almost always find a treasure there. The atmosphere is inviting and is no pressure from anyone to hurry or purchase if you don't want to. I highly recommend.”

“I have lived in Ashland my whole life, and when i was a kid this was my favorite bookstore. It has a decent selection for small children all the way through teenagers, and the staff are very helpful. The shop has a sort of fairy theme that makes the whole place seem magical. Great place to bring small children or visit for souvenirs.”

“Wonderful couple opened last year and what a bookstore they have put together. I came in and asked for a bit of an obscure book and they had it. Prices are really a bit inexpensive so much that I left a couple dollars extra. The customer service was worth more than the price of the book. If you are a reader and book lover Village Books is for you.

“I had such a great time walking around this wonderful shop. So many great items. The customer service was top notch. Not only did I find some great gifts for my family but the nice young lady helping me, wrapped them too.”

“This is a small bookstore compared to the other bigger Oregon Universities. However, that does not bother me. This bookstore has a lot of merchandise—but it can also be a little pricey. However, I like that they do have a lot of nice items on sale and I like that they have different payment options. I do feel the in-person bookstore has a lot more than online…but then again, I should understand that the current students should have first pick at clothing, hats, and materials they like. I just wish I lived closer so I can go to the bookstore randomly… as I do love the institution I graduated from. I know it may sound cliché, but I really did meet a lot of nice people here that I will never forget…and this is technically by definition, my second home. With that being said, I hope one day to maybe…if I am lucky…have a little vacation home in Ashland :)”

“A fun place to browse for used books of all genres.
Very helpful volunteers run this place.
I do wish the cozy mystery section was bigger as it used to be.”

“In May of 2023 my publisher asked me if I wanted to create an audiobook version of my wild edibles book. I said: “Hell YES!” Shortly thereafter, I was slated to go to San Francisco or Portland to record the audio. I was reluctant to travel to either place because it would’ve cost thousands of dollars in gas and hotel stays out of my pocket. Instead, I suggested we record everything at Blackstone Audio in Ashland. This worked out beautifully and saved me heaps of dough!Blackstone Audio is a top-notch recording facility located in a beautiful, mountainous town in Southern Oregon. My commute from medford to Ashland was a motorcyclist’s dream. In total, I sat for five five-hour recording sessions in one of their state-of-the-art isolation booths and got to know the place well. I was paired with a friendly/professional audio engineer who was instrumental in a successful final product (shoutout to Josh B. ?).Basically it was a magical experience all around! ?‍♂️Thank you Blackstone and thank you North Atlantic Books! ?It’s also worth mentioning that many great books were recorded at this facility and it was an honor for me to sit in the same chair as some of my heroes.Lastly, my wild edibles book is now available everywhere (if you want to check out the quality). ?”

“I have been a customer to Evangel for many years! I have always been treated with respect and kindness. I was even given a Bible for being a selfless person (buying for friends and family). I could get items for less through mail order, but I chose to go to Evangel to support our community and the people who work there. Wendy has prayed with me and cried with my husband when she found out I had stage 4 cancer. Her devotion to me as a Christ follower has impacted my life as no other. Because of her wonderful self sacrifice, she's my forever friend and sister in Christ.”
