    “Stopped for gas and antelope, ended up with watermelon, cake and brownies too. Low gas prices drew us in. There's produce. Deli. Baked goods and grocery products. I did t buy any deli items but there were lots of people buying hoagies and sandwiches. They looked good, easy flat entrance. No electric handicap scooters that I saw, but there are regular carts.”

    “The Beaver Springs Dollar General moved across the street on Route 522 to their new bigger location. I did not know & so when I saw the original empty storefront, I was surprised until I glanced on the other side of the road next to the car wash, and there they were. Has an expanded grocery section, more refrigerated and frozen items, and wider aisles. Week of August 1-7, 2025 = Extra 50% clearance. Let the bargain hunting begin.”

    “I had to pee really bad and so did my little kid. When I went in I was expecting a really creepy and horribly gross bathroom because it was a gas station in the middle of no where and yeah. My daughter and I were both shocked when we walked into the bathroom. It was so clean and smelled great. It didn’t make my skin crawl. Does someone live in the back office sometimes? Because wow nice gas station bathroom!”

    “Another one of those Dollar Generals in the middle of no where it seems. First thing I noticed was the look of the building is slightly different from most with its siding, see how the stock photos differ. Upon entry, everything looks clean but packed, they fit a ton of merchandise into such a small footprint. Overall, organized, well stocked, lots of types of products to choose from. Seems well suited to provide for the locals that have to travel 10s of miles to get to other major shopping options.”

    Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard.     Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
