“Very knowledgeable, great service, extremely nice, and at a great price. I recommend.I bought an ebike online, they did a safety check and let me know the back wheel was bent and should be warrantied. I will be coming back in the future!”

“Called from Wisconsin about an Arkel handlebar bag they had on their website. Person I spoke with hunted it down in storage and said it was a little dusty from sitting but otherwise in excellent condition. He unilaterally dropped the price significantly and agreed to ship it to me. Exactly as described, super nice guy, great deal. Thanks. Hitting the road in April - it will be much appreciated on tour.”

“There are many reasons why Mechanic bicycle shop has five star reviews. My experience is no different. My family and I have a few bikes, often I am taking one in and picking one up. Seth is an absolute joy to deal with. His expertise, and attention to detail make you want to bring your bikes in to be serviced! He makes sure that your bike leaves set up properly, and always seems to work just as hard to save you time and money. He cares about his customers, and what leaves his shop. If you’re going to spend any time on a bicycle, you should have Seth check over your ride. He makes sure your set up is right, saving you from discomfort, and hat your bike is safely assembled. On top of that, his extensive knowledge can guide you through any maintenance issue, or help you prep for a new challenge. I recommend this place to anyone that’s into cycling. A true old school bike shop, not a corporate franchise. Upgrade you bike and your experience”

“My rear brake was rubbing so I brought the bike to get it looked at. Turns out the brake had cracked. Thankfully, they had a replacement part already in stock, and repaired my bike the same day so I could make it to my group ride. Amazing service.”

“I recently moved to Philly and was looking to get a bike for riding in the city. I came into Cadence not know anything about bikes and was met with enthusiasm and an eagerness to help. The team walked me through the basics and helped me get an awesome bike that I ride about 5 or 6 days a week. They didn’t pressure me into buying anything and were simply there to help. Absolutely would recommend.”

“I just picked up riding recently. Went to a few different bike shops but the Trek store in Manyunk has been the best. Tom took care of my first maintenance experience and was tremendous. This is my go to store now because of the way the staff has repeatedly been so helpful. I've been here a few times and always look forward to going now.”

“Changed my review based on experience Summer 2023. The staff changed & now they trump up needed services /fees-- for simple stuff and refuse to fix unless you get a full tune up. (old review from 3 years ago. Nice staff and they had a tire that fit my bike in the middle of the covid lock down.)”

“Amber was helpful and was sure I was satisfied with a full tune-up on my X-Cal . Have been using the Gateway store for years for service and also the Wayne store who fitted me properly to my Gravel Bike. They have combined the stores into a new large and better layout . Excellent service .”

“The service was excellent. I had my brakes upgraded from a mechanical disk brake setup to a hybrid disk/hydraulic setup, on an entry-level Cannondale gravel bicycle. I commute to work in the rough streets of Philadelphia, a total of 12 miles, 4-5 days per week. I am very happy with the results of the upgrade and I appreciate the chance to geek out on bicycles.”

“This is the best bike shop in Philly. I’ve been going here for 15 years and service always exceeds expectations. Great shop for cycling novices and veterans alike. Their bike mechanics explain all things bikes in layman’s terms and won’t talk down to you like some shops can do. I’ve obtained some very obscure bike parts from Firehouse Bicycles over the years. You name it, they’ve got it. Bike mechanics are knowledgeable about inventory and will be honest when something is out of stock. If you go here for repairs, you can expect prices to be reasonable and services to be quick.”

“Purchased my bike here and have gotten my bike serviced here. Staff were extremely helpful and did a wonderful fit on the bike. They worked with me to find a frame and seat that worked for me.”

“Steve is the man. All around great dude, and underrated BMX rider. Super hospitable, humble and will definitely help you get your bike dialed in. Shops like this are a dying breed, so I try to order through Berks St. whenever I can, even though I live in Louisiana. He’s gone out of his way to help me out when I was visiting Philly. Can’t say enough good things. Support this shop at all costs.”

“Great shop, the fella I spoke with had millimetric knowledge on tap and genuinely appreciated patience for folks who love to turn a wrench. Thanks for the advice, thanks for the parts, thanks for being around!”

“Mike the owner, is very knowledgeable, friendly and does great work. I've been there several times and I am very happy, could not have had a better experience. Highly recommended. My T line continues to work great. Thanks Mike, my Brompton and I are happy we met you.”

“Purchased March 2020 - 2020 Santa Cruz Tallboy – Lg Rocksteady Yellow Co Purchased as COVID was not quite in full force in March 2020, Brady delivered the bike to me at home, wearing a mask. The price was fair, the buying experience was great. Additionally, every year they provide a tune-up, creating minimal costs so far (tire sealant, etc.). Service is scheduled on-line, they communicate via text message and all managers/owners, sales people and techs at both locations have been great to deal with related to this purchase. The bike itself is more than I know how to use, but it has been perfect for the rocks/roots/short ups/downs very common around Philly (commonly ride Wiss, Belmont, Smedley, Brandywine) and generally without issue for 4 years.o Don’t be intimidated by the high-end bikes they sell. I purchased 2 kids bikes connected to Little Bella’s (an amazing charity that teaches girls mtb skills and broader life lessons across the US). The charity is supported by the shop, and in general they are a positive for the local community. Brady/Dave and everyone there will meet you at your budget/interest, help you through the process and are interested in being a resource for the long hall.”

“I have consistently received excellent sales, and service at the Havertown Bicycle Shop. John (the owner) is very knowledgeable, and will find the right bike, every time. He makes sure that you have the right color, fit, and style. He wants you to have a smile on your face when you leave, knowing that you made the right decision on your purchase. I love the trade in option, and the service you receive after your purchase. This is very important to me. He has never let me down. John, or one of the employees, will even put the bike in my car for me! I would highly recommend the Havertown Bicycle Shop to anyone looking for a new, or second hand bike.”

“I just saw the review posted by a woman named Maryann Gibson and feel the need to set the record straight. I was in Cycle Sport when this woman and her husband came in and began screaming and cursing at employees. The owner tried to placate her but could barely get a word in as she continued to shout, scaring one family of customers. Her husband even went so far as to threaten the owner!Cycle Sport is the best bike shop around, hands down. Mrs. Gibson could really use a spa day!”

“As a major shop in this area, any avid rider will quickly become familiar with Keswick. They've assisted with many repairs. And I appreciate that! To be better however, I'd like to see lower priced bikes, lower cost accessories and a diversified staff.”

“Came in after my back wheel got stolen and not really knowing anything about bikes, super stressed and just wanting to have a painless process. They hooked me up so well, came in and he was like “I got you” and just started going to work. Dude’s got a good sense of old school humor which was really refreshing and just made me feel at ease. Definitely will be coming back”

“Very friendly staff that took there time to show me everything I wanted to see and answered all my questions. They made my buying experience worth it . If you are looking for a new bike definitely stop over there. I'LL GIVE THEM 10 STARS IF I COULD. (Very happy)”

“I just got my bike fixed from them, I dropped my e-bike off about a month ago and just got it back today, it took a little while because it was tons wrong with my e-bike. By the way I brought this bike to about three other shops before bells (I didn't know bells worked on e-bikes at the time) and all three shops turned me away because I didn't buy my bike from them, because it wasn't a Chinese knockoff e-bikes. Speaking of the same person owns all three of the local e-bike shops, so they charge anything they want and customers are basically stuck (10th and south, broad and Wharton, and right off of Washington and passyunk). If one of those stores gives you a price they will all collaborate to give you the same price bells is the only store that can actually compete with them. Anyway the work they did on my bike was Major I gave it to them with no pedals, my back tire had almost no spokes and the rim was bent. They had to order all the parts and build everything on the bike,, they give me a very reasonable price and the work they did was perfect. Oh by the way if you don't already have an e-bike and you don't have thousands to spend on a new one they have used ebikes for sale, if I didn't have my e-bike I would have gotten it from them because the ebikes they have in their store are amazing. I'm telling you you won't even know which one to buy because they have so many really nice ones and I don't know a single other store that does that. Sorry for the TLDR would definitely recommend them. Will update on future visits.”

“Velojawn is great and was closer, but they hadn’t opened yet. Mike was just opening up at Dr. Cycles and changed my tube in less than 5 minutes for $15. I asked if he could sell me an extra tube, but he said he didn’t have spares. Really, I couldn’t ask for better. I’ve been charged nearly 3x this in other shops.”
