“Worth walking across the river! I kept getting flats on work trips — probably my fault for relying on cheap tires. So I asked Cadence to put on their most puncture-resistant tires, and they happened to have a used pair from an elderly rider who didn't like their ride comfort. They were installed within hours and they ride feels great to me; stay tuned for how long they last! Long story short, I got a seemingly great product at a great price with a great turn-around time — and I learned a ton from the service techs. Thanks, Steve and Aaron!”

“This review is for my wonderful SE Draft. SE is one of Advanced Sports' brands. My SE Draft is a great bike and I love it! I have the blue/red version in the almost-a-kid's-bike size. I named her Sadie. The draft is a single speed and while it's taken some time to get used to, now I wouldn't want to be without it. I feel so cute and stylish on this bike (okay and safe too); now I just need a matching helmet. Seriously: this a great bike for getting around town, running errands, etc. My only complaint is the grips that make my hands sweat but that's an easy fix (on the bike, not my hands).”
“The folks at Firehouse Bicycles are truly a breath of fresh air. I’m very new to cycling and was nervous to get help with buying my first bike and gear as a complete novice hoping to transition from car commuting to bike commuting. There was no reason to be anxious though, because every single person who’s helped me here has been so welcoming, helpful, patient, and excited to share their knowledge and advice with me and answer all my many questions. On my first visit to Firehouse Bicycles I ended up test riding 5 different bikes, and the person who helped me never rushed me and spent lots of time giving me detailed information and recommendations. On another visit, a different employee spent about 10 minutes with me helping me plan out my bike route for my work commute while they rang up my purchase. I really can’t recommend this shop enough, especially if you’re newer to biking and looking for a place with non-judgmental experts who are generous with their time and knowledge.”
“I went there right when the shop opened and got help immediately. The person who helped me was extremely knowledgeable and fixed my flat tire so quickly. He also saw my seat was a safety issue and replaced it for me with a discarded seat and made sure everything fit for me again. I would highly recommend and make sure I come here for all my biking needs!!”

“I like that they're open late. I got doored one evening and like all the other bike shops were closed, but they were open to 7:30 and I was able to get my front wheel replaced. They do cash only, but there's an ATM nearby.”
“I came in because I just really needed a tube of rubber cement and the shop was close to where I was meeting a friend. The owner told me he wasn’t sure if they had it in a tube (they have a large can for the shop repairs) but rummaged through the shop’s own supplies to get me a tube. I really appreciated his willingness to help me and would certainly come back. If anyone’s into folding bikes, they have the best selection in the city. I noticed they also had a bunch of fun bells—maybe I’ll come back for one of those. The owner had a great personality and made me feel very welcome.”
“Chain popped off in Center City so I gave Dr. cycles a call. He let me know he was in and would be there in 30 minutes when I arrived. $10 and 10 minutes later I had a ride as good as ever. Dr also helped me with a gear shift issue the last guy couldn’t fix. 10/10 would recommend calling the Dr and stopping by.
There’s also a good cafe across the street in case you have to wait on your repair”
“I originally took my Lectric ONE to another bike shop for a flat tire. During the visit, I was advised to replace the brake pads and rotor as well. After the repairs, a Smart.Shift issue appeared, and the bike was returned with a brake rotor that was visibly deformed, so I decided to get a second opinion.
I brought the bike to Bell's Bike Shop and explained that it is my only source of income during the summer while school is out because I work as a paraprofessional during the school year. They understood my situation, focused on the repairs that were necessary to get me safely back on the road, replaced the deformed rotor, corrected the brake issues, and even generously reduced some of the labor cost because my rent was due soon.
The Smart.Shift issue, which first appeared after my visit to the other bike shop, will have to be addressed later when I can afford it. Despite that, Bell's never pressured me into unnecessary repairs. They prioritized getting my bike safe and rideable again so I could get back to earning an income. Their honesty, compassion, professionalism, and quality workmanship have earned my trust, and I highly recommend them.”

“I've gone to this bike store a couple times now and my experience every time has been great. This past weekend I went in looking for a new saddle and I was helped by Brittany who was great! She's very knowledgeable and gave me a good recommendation. She also informed me that there is a 30 day trial period for the saddle which was super helpful. Plus she let me know about some of the community rides that Trek organizes, which was really cool. I highly recommend visiting this bike shop!”
