“The regional food bank distributes food to local food pantries that get it into the hands of those who need it the most. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. They're quick at helping get your order loaded and ready to go. They do a great job in helping those in need in the area.”
“A good place for fellowship and worship and they have different programs too, such as food for the needy. You just have to check when they're having these food give aways.”
“Friendly staff, and I have to thank Tara Joyce for all her hard work and effort she has put into her career/job. As well as the gratitude I have for her for guiding me and showing me how to be a positive, strong, and better person no matter the circumstances. Even when I felt low for asking for help, she made me feel human and comfortable, and definitely, she has manifested a confidence in me that I will forever be grateful for.”
“I went there to get help finding a job. They helped me out with some clothes and finding a job online. Joe and Katie are very professional and nice to work with.”

“My friend G told me about this place! I haven’t checked it out…and I’m not sure I would be welcome…since only my uncle served in a major world war. However, I have like immediate family that does a lot of good for the community…so they are like vets in my eyes. But no where near the combat / war / ship level veterans who most likely come here. Anyway, G was saying how this was opened after a long struggle of observing the community. The guy basically didn’t understand Scranton and then was like YES, this is my calling! Props G.”
“They're a great, wonderful service for kids who aren't able to go to safe homes and for teens escaping abuse. They feed, shelter, clothe, and have rooms to let kids be kids, which is especially essential when they come from dangerous, toxic environments. The fact that it's very close to the other nearby shelters and near the Scranton High School is wonderful, and the location was a very intelligent decision! They do the most they can to help, and their rapid rehousing program is a wonderful installment into young people's lives who are unhoused!Overall, this shelter has a wonderful mission and ideal. They carry it out passionately and empathetically, no matter who comes in the door.”
“Good Thrift Store in the center of Town. Can buy most ANYTHING (except Food) there & are OPEN #7 days/ week! Friendly Staff, easy to *Walk to or *Park in big Lot out front & get *Lunch nearby too! A nice addition since we don't have any $-Stores in Town. *DONATIONS of ITEMS are always welcome & given often so is plenty to BUY!”
“Incredible day we had at the Trolley Museum, simply superb service helped us easily get into the museum and access a wide variety of trolley exhibits. Interactive exhibits allowed us to be fully immersed in the world of trolleys and it was simply a superb experience 10 out of 10 recommend if you have a spare day in Scranton with no idea what to do, stop on by the museum of trolleys for a good time.”
“Wonderful place to drop off handmade items. I had franchised bags that I am not using. They didn't mind the branding. I have dropped off handmade pillows also that were well received. 9 to 4p on weekdays for drop offs.”
“Always very pleasant and accommodating. They have walk-in feral days which helps get the colony cats fixed. Reasonably priced. They do a wonderful job with the cats.”
“People working there are friendly and helpful out pretty fast which I was surprised by! Kinda sucks the location is so out of the way from everything but still a cool place”
“I purchased 4 pieces of 12 month clothing for a big 3.00. 2 pieces were 1/2 half off. They have all kids clothes 0-15 Years for 1.00 a piece. Oct 2025
The only thing bad is no changing room at Keyser oak. There is changing rooms @ rt 6 in dickson city by bowling alley.”

“SCC has been so helpful in my mental health journey, when it was nearly impossible to find a therapist that I actually connected with I was referred to SCC and found someone that I felt actually understood me. Thank you, SCC!”
“A great place to work out, swim or play any recreational sports. The sauna and steam room in the men’s fitness center are an absolute game changer as well. Would recommend.”
