“There was plenty of free parking and fairly easy to pull into the lot from the busy Scranton Carbondale expressway from the middle turn lane. I used a quarter to get a cart. I navigated through the produce section grabbing mandarin oranges, honey crisp apples then got to the bread section. Got some croissants buns, cheese ciabatta, brioche buns, garlic knots, and honey wheat bread. Got two boxes of the tomato basil flavored thin wheats that disappear at home before I can even snack on them. Loaded up a the mega bag of russet potatoes for some filling, weight loss friendly lunches! The aisles were wide and clean. There were many shoppers on this rainy Friday afternoon. I stocked up on troll gummy ice pops, m&m peanut butter ice-cream sandwiches, and peach ice pops. The m&m ice cream sandwiches were devoured shortly after I got home. I got more stuff from the frozen food section then rolled to checkout. I parked the cart near the checkout to use the rest room. The restroom needed some cleaning with one stained toilet. One toilet seat was lopsided, but I was thankful the restrooms were available. I went back to the checkout and it went fairly quickly. There were four or five self checkouts filled with customers. I used the lane with the cashier without any issues. Checked out, bagged the stuff, and retuned the cart. I love the efficiency and prices at Aldi.”

I tried some new things because I was unfamiliar with a lot of the items but they had a lot of things that look like they'd be really good. They also have basics like milk, eggs, and toiletries.”
“It's the one place I can go and get my ingredients to cook accordingly my cultural foods. I'm Puerto Rican. And live in NY an hour away from Scranton, PA. And yes.. I must travel this far just to get the ingredients I need. I do it every 3-6 months. I buy enough to last me that long. I appreciate all of the products I have purchased over the past few years. I will continue to support this location, until there's a place I can go near me. (Not even Super-Walmart or Wegmans carry some of these ingredients)”
Walmart just launched Realm, its new 3D online shopping platform. To help you visualize what that means, imagine a virtual mall packed with bright colors, wacky landscapes, and cartoon avatars wandering around. Realm lets you browse "digital doubles" of real Walmart products by navigating through several make-believe worlds. "We believe this is the future of commerce," said Justin Breton, who leads brand experiences at Walmart. "It won't replace our website or app, but will complement them."
Target's new low-cost brand Dealworthy is rolling out this month in stores and online. With items starting at under $1, it is aimed at budget-conscious shoppers. The low prices on basics like phone chargers, paper plates and underwear will likely appeal.
Walmart is growing the number of its physical stores across America. The retail giant announced plans to open 150 new U.S. stores over the next five years while remodeling 650 current locations. This ambitious plan shows Walmart is still confident in real stores, even with online shopping booming. The chain currently operates over 10,000 stores nationwide.
Popular Florida-based grocery chain Publix is venturing into uncharted territory - Kentucky. Come 2024, Publix will unveil its inaugural Bluegrass State locations, comprising six stores sprinkled between Louisville and Lexington.
