“There was plenty of free parking and fairly easy to pull into the lot from the busy Scranton Carbondale expressway from the middle turn lane. I used a quarter to get a cart. I navigated through the produce section grabbing mandarin oranges, honey crisp apples then got to the bread section. Got some croissants buns, cheese ciabatta, brioche buns, garlic knots, and honey wheat bread. Got two boxes of the tomato basil flavored thin wheats that disappear at home before I can even snack on them. Loaded up a the mega bag of russet potatoes for some filling, weight loss friendly lunches! The aisles were wide and clean. There were many shoppers on this rainy Friday afternoon. I stocked up on troll gummy ice pops, m&m peanut butter ice-cream sandwiches, and peach ice pops. The m&m ice cream sandwiches were devoured shortly after I got home. I got more stuff from the frozen food section then rolled to checkout. I parked the cart near the checkout to use the rest room. The restroom needed some cleaning with one stained toilet. One toilet seat was lopsided, but I was thankful the restrooms were available. I went back to the checkout and it went fairly quickly. There were four or five self checkouts filled with customers. I used the lane with the cashier without any issues. Checked out, bagged the stuff, and retuned the cart. I love the efficiency and prices at Aldi.”
“There was plenty of free parking in front of the store. The produce section was fully stocked with fresh items. My son was sad the sushi section didn’t have just sashimi as part of their selection. I got some strawberries and angel food cake to make a trifle. It was a busy noon time on a Sunday and took a little time for my husband to redeem a scratch off ticket. My son wanted salt water taffy and an associate came to help but the store didn’t carry them. An associate approached me in the frozen section and asked if I needed help. I said no. The store was clean with clear aisles. The checkout lines were not long. There were plenty of self checkouts and cashier checkout. Check out with the cashier went smoothly while my husband bagged the groceries with the store provided plastic bags.”

Chef's is one of the most unique markets I've ever walked into and down right pleasant. The meats, pork and chicken are as good as it gets. I am sorry that Shefs does embarrass to shame da Ole Timey Meat Market due to Chef's one of a kind selection. Chef's carries the best stone ground grits (palmetto farms) that will turn out the best home cooked Low Country shrimp and grits I've ever had. The ice cold wine selection is wonderful as well. “Had an excellent experience here. Coming into town from Reminderville, Ohio and decided to stop here, one thing that bothered me when I was shopping was how many stockers are out through the aisles? Why not do all the stocking before opening or during night shift? Other than that the cashiers were all very nice young teen boys and had a great conversation with Finn and Anthony who had great customer service and helped me find items I couldn’t myself. I also did not have a “Weis card” but he gave me the store card which saved me almost $15, I would shop here again.”
“Well I don't have a picture nor do I leave a review typically. BUT I have been out of town for a couple weeks. When I went to the deli I had not 1 but 2 young males offer to help me. For a second I was stunned not sure how to respond. I thanked them for there service. So here's me off to the the general manager and spoke of the 2 deli men. It didn't stop there, I always go to a person to check out customer service and found out that she was new when she explained she needed to put the boxes in the same bag, that says enough@ Who ever is in charge of changing this store needs a raise buy employing the rite people!”

“About 4 years ago, this dollar general used to have horribly mannered workers. The place was an absolute mess. I have seen them change this store around in just a few months. The employees working now are absolutely amazing. They are always staying busy stocking and straightening the shelves. I like this store, the location is close to my house. If I forget something at the grocery store or the kids need something last minute, it is very convenient for me. I appreciate all the employees for having manners and for being so polite with a smile. Thank you for changing this place and hiring amazing workers. They really should be recognized for the hard work they did cleaning up after the mess it was before.”

“I hadn't been inside a Weis Markets in such a long time until i found one nearby where we were eating yesterday. And although we left without buying a single thing - because this particular Weis is small and doesn't have much selection - they also didn't have a big majority of the stuff we generally shoot for. Among a few things we looked for any signs of bananas but we just couldn't find them and the stores' layout in produce was confusing. My brother found some single cake pieces but knew he couldn't carry it out without it melting before reaching home 2+ hours away, so forwent the piece and placed it back on the shelves. We all noticed a brand that another competitor store in a nearby state sells - TopCare- and could tell a price difference that seemed to be higher between Weis and that competitor for the same product. (tops Friendly markets in NY sells TopCare with the same branding and contact details on the box.I did like the reminder that social distancing was in place on the interior floor marker as you walk in near produce, but after that everybody is on the honor system. Im okay with that, given my stste takes their coronavirus precautions several steps farther.”

Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard. The 118,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late fall 2026 and will create around 250 jobs.
Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
