2425 US-6, HawleyOn a Friday, my cat was ill & I had not found a local vet since we moved here a year ago. I called my regular vet in Warwick NY & they were booked solid so I needed to find someone local. NOTE TO PET OWNERS: Find a local vet before you need them. I was foolish to wait but don't make my mistake. ALSO find & save the name, number & address for an EMERGENCY VET. This will highly likely be different from your regular vet. In an emergency, you WILL NOT have time to find the best/closest place to go. After calling a couple of vets we found on Google who were booked, we took a chance & called Wallenpaupack Veterinary. Miracle of miracles, they had a cancellation & got us in that afternoon. The vet listened to my concerns & gave me options for tests. I didn't feel they were doing unnecessary procedures or tests to pad the bill. Turns out there was nothing seriously wrong with my cat BUT seeing Wallenpaupack Veterinary gave me piece of mind going into the weekend.

8 Silk Mill Drive, Hawleybreakfast sandwiches on delicious homemade bread, very caring staff that was careful about allergies, yummy croissants and very precisely. made delicious coffee and all of it with loads of beautiful nature paths and waterfalls where we took our breakfast to go and ate. Plus, while we were waiting, there's really amazing history about the local silk Mills and the children who worked in them posted around this beautiful stone and wood beam building. it makes you very grateful to have children who are waiting for treats. while you remember that many other children were working for 1/10 the fee of adults starting at age 6 or 8 years old. The photos and signage make it a really engaging quick display for a multi-age crowd waiting on their order. and you get to feel appreciative instead of guilty because the coffee and the chocolates are fair trade. so you're doing right by other people's children while you're enjoying treats with your own.

322 Main Avenue, HawleyOur first time trying this place. While this would be easy to miss driving by the menu is surprisingly diverse. The main dishes of special beef and the shrimp, chicken and beef and garlic sauce were well seasoned, unique in flavor and well spiced and delicious. The boneless spareribs also nice smoky flavor. The hot and sour soup was a pass as the broth lacked any traditional rich flavor and was overly thickened. The place is primary take out, with only a couple small tables. They are cash or check only.
