“This place is so much more than a gas station and convenience store. They have a large variety of food available. For one they have the least expensive coffee you can find ANYWHERE and it's delicious. They offer typical convenience store items, but also many healthier fresh foods, such as a large variety of premade salads and fruits and veggies. There is an on site deli where they provide made to order food. They carry locally made items from small businesses, such as Lambcakes desserts and maple syrup. There is dine-in seating as well as tables outside. The alcohol selection is huge. Most importantly, the place is CLEAN. Any time of day I stop in I see them cleaning different parts of the store. Something else I noticed, the parking spots are large, so you don't have to worry someone will hit you with their car door or side swipe you trying to pull out. I do have 2 minimal complaints. While they offer free air for tires, the air pump isn't the easiest to use. I also wish they were open later at night. Otherwise, 6 out of 5 stars! You can tell the owners care about their establishment and want to offer the best to their customers.”

“Recently had to get some heating oil for my deceased father's house that we're trying to sell. We were trying to get the smallest amount possible, just so the potential buyer could verify that the furnace was functioning properly, as all of the existing oil had ran out. A competitor said they wouldn't even bother helping us out, unless we bought 100 gallons, which was an unnecessary cost we're trying to avoid. Not on was Shaffer's willing to help us out, they even lended me a couple of 5 gallon containers to fill up my dad's tanks just enough to prove the furnace was operational. One of the gentlemen working there, was kind enough to give me a quick tutorial on how to bleed the valve, to get the furnace running again. I don't understand some of the negative reviews here, because I received incredible customer service, and I would recommend them to anybody.”

The Iowa retailer, the third-largest convenience store operator in the country, built its new three-year plan around three priorities: store growth, food and beverage expansion, and kitchen technology upgrades. The company plans to add 120 stores during the current fiscal year. Its previous plan, launched in 2023, delivered more than 500 new stores and earned the company a spot in the S&P 500.
