Petagogy
165 Blazier Dr, PittsburghI have shopped here in the past, but never needed any assistance until the last time I was there recently. I came in to get some special cat food for my cat who was having a lot of dental surgery. Zack helped me pick out some good, nutritious, and easy to chew dry food for my cat and some treats. He was EXTREMELY HELPFUL, he showed me several different options of food and explain why they were a good choice. I bought one of the bags of dry food he recommended and my cat/cats loved it so much that I went back there the next day and bought it in another flavor. He also gave me a bunch of free samples for my cats to try. Also, Kaylee was VERY HELPFUL and KIND the next day when I returned. I highly recommend this pet shop as they have great quality product, good prices, and WONDERFUL employees that actually WANT to help you. They are super knowledgeable on all the products in the store, very friendly, and very caring.

I learned more from him than anyone in all my years of having parrots! Pretty Birds is a Bird Boarder. Be sure to make an appointment for your bird's grooming needs.

Greenfield Veterinary Hospital
701 Hazelwood Ave, PittsburghI am writing this review to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional care provided at Greenfield Veterinary Hospital to my three Labrador Retrievers. I have so many wonderful things to say about their entire professional staff, from my veterinarian, Dr. Wong, and technicians Gage, Breanna and Taliah, to the front desk team Tracy, Nancy, Desirae and Jen.
It is clear that this practice truly loves animals and is committed to their well-being. Every time we walk in, the staff is friendly, patient, and genuinely caring, treating my dogs as if they were their own. I also deeply appreciate how knowledgeable and thorough Dr. Wong is, always taking the time to explain things clearly and answer all of my questions.
The compassionate approach at Greenfield Veterinary Hospital makes every visit a “PAW-SITIVE” experience for both me and my dogs. I am very grateful to have such reliable care for my dogs in the Pittsburgh and western Pennsylvania Region.

Rivers Veterinary Urgent Care
560 McNeilly Rd, PittsburghI have taken both of my cats to Rivers a few times, and we have had a great experience each time. All of the staff are kind, communicative, and reassuring. I also feel like every vet I spoke to over the years has been both direct and knowledgeable, they do a good job of explaining what’s going on with my cat’s health. My one cat was referred to another org by rivers to manage a chronic health condition, which has greatly improved his health. I’m grateful they were able to identify a possible root cause of his sickness and refer us to long term care. It’s nice to know that I have an urgent care that I trust when we’re having an emergency. Prices can be hard to swallow BUT are similar to other urgent care prices and are much more reasonable than emergency care in the area. thanks to Rivers for all you do!

Pet Sitting & Training

Sit Means Sit Dog Training Pittsburgh
3910 Saw Mill Run Blvd, PittsburghFinding the right training program can feel overwhelming, but choosing Sit Means Sit for my puppy, Remy, was the absolute best decision. From day one, the entire team has been professional, incredibly knowledgeable, and deeply invested in both Remy’s success and my confidence as a handler.
> The results speak for themselves. In a short amount of time, Remy’s focus, impulse control, and overall obedience have improved dramatically—even around heavy distractions. The training methods are clear, consistent, and structured in a way that makes learning fun for a high-energy dog. More importantly, it has completely transformed our daily routine and given me the practical tools to navigate everyday situations with total peace of mind.
> If you are on the fence about investing in dog training, I cannot recommend Sit Means Sit enough. They truly set both ends of the leash up for long-term success.

Pawsitive K9 Behavior School
560 McNeilly Rd, PittsburghWe highly recommend Pawsitive K9! We reached out about our 6 year old golden doodle, Gatsby, who has some reactivity around kids and struggles with resource guarding of certain things. From the start, Bridget explained the game plan of what it would look like to work through these issues. Since she has started working with him we have been amazed by how much he has grown in his impulse control and overall behavior! He is capable of more than we could have imagined with her help. We did the 5 day camp k9 training package and are getting ready to start group classes with other dogs. Communication from Bridge is always clear with his homework, she has definitely tailored the training plan to fit his needs (e.g. bringing in her young son, who is an awesome helper, for our dog to safely work with getting comfortable with kids both at our home and the training facility), and she is responsive when we have questions between training sessions. We feel so comfortable when Gatsby is at training, as we know Bridget and the team are passionate about their work and tuned in to his specific needs. We are exciting to continue our training with Bridget and continue to see our pup grow!

Modern Dog
415 Gettysburg St, PittsburghThere are no words to describe how we feel towards Jordan and the whole team at Modern Dog. Our dog, Winston, who was naturally super anxious, spent 11 amazing years playing, walking and resting at Modern Dog every week. He would have his picture taken to celebrate birthdays, back to school and even pose with Santa. He always looked annoyed but went along with it anyway! The team’s vision to make it fun and engaging was one of our favourite parts about Modern Dog. On non-daycare days he would be walked by their fantastic staff, and when his humans were out of town or late from work, he was dropped off at home or boarded with Jordan and Noelle. There was never a moment of worry when leaving him with them, he was so happy to be in their care. While Winston recently passed over the rainbow bridge, our family remains deeply grateful to the whole team’s support and care over many years. We hope we’ll cross paths again.

Lucy was nervous the first time she went and abbie told us she literally got into the sink with her to make her more comfortable! So, when I say they do the most for your dogs, they do! My husband did drop off and pick up for her appointment today with Madi and said she was so bubbly and excited to meet Lucy! Both girls do a fabulous job on the grooming portion as well, Lucy is a mini Australian Shepard, and lives basically on a farm chasing chickens everyday. So, to say we’ve taken her looking rough at times is an understatement. Everytime the girls have been more than gracious and truly take their time on Lucy to make sure she leaves perfect. And that she does. the cherry on top of canine cabins is their super sweet personalized dog bone fridge magnet they sent around Christmas, thanking you for their support. This is why I LOVE supporting small businesses. In all we truly cannot say enough good things about this place. It’s beautiful, well maintained and the workers are top notch! Behavioral and obedience improvements were evident after one day. After each session, Matt taught us how to connect w/Seamus and reenforce the base knowledge that he'd instilled through the training, an aspect of dog training often overlooked. We're an experienced Lab family and Matt delivered what other trainers only promised with our other Labs. Seamus has now graduated to mentor dog and we couldn't be happier with the progress. The food is delicious. I've had the lamb, chicken and falafel, they're all tasty tender and seasoned to perfection. I've had other things on the menu as well and I have no complaints. The service is great. The owner is very nice and welcoming. He makes sure you're enjoying your food and stay. It's a small place so not much room for dining in. If you do decide to do so there are about 3 to 4 tables inside and during the non winter months there are a couple tables outside. JJ Poke Bowl & Taiwanese Bubble Tea
110 Atwood St, PittsburghI work in Oakland and have come here occasionally for lunch for many years now. I would come more often if it were close to my office. That is all to say after many years, the quality of the food here has never declined. The ingredients are all so fresh - even the pineapple is fresh cut pineapple and not the canned/pre-diced kind that you find a lot of places. The prices are extremely fair for the quality of the ingredients, and the portion size and amount of protein that you get. There are so many poke places that skimp on the protein, but not here!
The boba is also excellent - the bubbles are always soft and squishy, and I have always found the flavor of all the milk teas and fruit teas to be excellent.
I love this place and felt inclined to finally write a review so that more people can know how good it is and keep them in business hopefully for a long time.
