“I'm writing this review as a shout-out to Jenny and Cheyenne. I've been a satisfied Lowe's customer for some time now and Lowe's Plymouth Meeting is hands-down my favorite location in the Philadelphia region. The staff here is very professional and helpful and I've had many pleasant experiences, but the most notable one so far was last week. Due to a technicality, the system was not properly applying a sizeable discount I was entitled to on my online pickup order. I requested help from Jenny at the Customer Service desk. We had to involve a manager (Cheyenne) and even she was initially resistant and then confused at the system glitch once I explained in detail. However, after a lot of struggling with the system, they were able to resolve the issue to my satisfaction and save me a lot of time, expense and hassle. I highly appreciate all their help.”
“Do it Best is an amazing hardware store. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help. They will help you find a single lightbulb or discuss a more complex project. I go out of my way to shop here to support this local gem.”
“If you want cold, sterile and unhelpful- go anywhere else. If you want to be treated like a valuable human, Stanley's is the place to go.
When you walk in, they ask how they can help you. When you tell them, they will explain any other supplies you may need as well. They are the perfect consultants. We also had an antique lamp that required some repairs. Someone else wanted to take it home as a side project. It came out far better than we expected.
On top of hiring locals and having staff who have been around for ages, it's a breath of fresh air going in there. I can't recommend them enough.”
“I am a property manager that works in the Main Line area so I often find myself picking up smaller things from this Ace Hardware.
I recently needed a high-end Anderson screen repaired because of pet damage. I encountered several very helpful folks who directed me to the rear counter for special services like screen repair. I was introduced to Sal, who couldn’t have been more professional and helpful. He took his time in explaining to me the options available as well as letting me know and some specifics about how he needed to retrofit for the pet grade screen I chose. He said it may take a few days because they had some other screen repairs in front of me. He said they would call when it was done like clockwork. Three days later I received a call that my screen repair was finished. I just can’t say enough about the great customer service, Sal, and the staff they are provided.will”
“Great relic that is also very functional... They are the ONLY supplier in the city that carries Limeworks products for historical pointing. Love coming here. Chestnut Hill is one of my favorite parts of Philadelphia!”
“The store itself is great, but there’s nothing better than an extremely hard working associate (Tom the cat) that never fails to greet us. On a real note, we do love seeing the cat when we visit and the place is very nice and organized.”
“Want to talk to an employee who actually knows what they carry and provide you with intelligent advice? This is the place! Despite their small footprint, I've yet to walk out without what I needed; they've got it all! And their prices are competitive to the big box stores. You won't be disappointed. These guys are the best!!”
“The new plexiglass window and rescreening of an old screen was done in in excellence, in record time (same day), and the cost was moderate. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable; they knew their stuff. I will be back again.”
“Fairmount Hardware is a neighborhood institution, with good reason. Dave, the owner, goes out of his way to help non-professionals with their projects, large and small. He wired a lamp for me, he also cut glass to put in a frame I had, saving me the expense of having a framer do it.
I think he tries to impart to the young people he hires to work in the hardware store as much of his wisdom as possible. Yesterday, he instructed a young trainee as to how to remove a bit of rust on a porcelain plaque I brought in.
Today, another trainee made a great suggestion as to how I might attach the plaque to a Target basket with wingbolt nuts and butterfly screws, rather than the furniture nails I’d bought the day before.
The clerk at the cash register gave me a credit for the unused furniture nails I had bought the day before and deducted the cost of the two wingbolt nut and screws —you cannot get better service than that anywhere.
Hail Dave and his team!”
“Great store, super friendly employees. Knowledgeable workers make a very different experience than big name hardware stores. Return policy is very dependable. This store is clean and organized every time I have been there.”
“Just wanted to thank Louis Jr. for finding the Toro zero turn lawn mower that I was looking for. Excellent customer service. Wish you were closer to Feasterville.”
“I've shopped at HF for years, way before they became so popular, and they've always been a great place to buy tools and accessories. In fact, practically every tool in my ship has come from here. They always have great coupons, often give away free stuff and have a great range of products suitable for the professional as well as the average homeowner (like me?)”
“I do maintenance around the block. This is the Best neighborhood hardware store. Very reasonable prices, great service. I can find here almost anything I need. Saves me a lot of trips to Home Depot.”

“I’m spoiled by the convenience and great personal service provided by Steve at Jacob Low Hardware. Just this week I popped in twice and quickly got exactly what I needed to complete my little projects. This local business is a real gem!”
“I had a very positive Experience with Len at Blue Bell Ace Hardware.
I had a 50+ utensil drawer. It kept falling apart from use. Nailed it, taped it. Decided to reach out to Ace for suggestions. Len said would look at it. He did amazing job. Glued it and put brackets on it. Price was so reasonable. Very courteous as well. I highly recommend dealing with such a nice crew at this store. Thank you.”
“Every time I walk into this shop I get the help I need. Today I ran into an issue with an expensive project I was doing and the woman behind the counter did everything she could to help and make sure i got the tools I needed. Even got help from some customers who had a drill on hand thanks to her.”
“Great local hardware store, with a good selection of paint colors to choose from. I stopped by just for paint, and the employee who helped me was very nice. I appreciated not being overly talked to, and he was quick with getting my paint all mixed together. It's nice to have a store in the neighborhood that's easy to walk to.”
“If you are someone like me, you are constantly doing little diy projects around your house and don't need tons of materials. Sometimes the Lowe's and Home Depot's can get extremely overwhelming and often times hard to find help from an employee. I have recently stopped going to Lowe's in Havertown and solely go to DMI on haverford rd! They have anything I could possibly need for the projects around my house. Lumber, paint, hardware, screws and nails, tools, gardening supplies, rental equipment for those larger projects, you name it! They also do chair and table rentals if you are throwing a party and need some extras! It really does feel like a family when you walk in there. There are numerous employees walking around, constantly asking how they can assist and make your experience at DMI better than it already is. From large to small, DMI has all that you could possibly need at a great price. Give it a try next time, I'm sure you will be back!”
“If you're looking for a Benjamin Moore paint store in the Philly suburbs, you Must come to this store!!! I traveled from West Chester to Bridgeport to buy paint from these guys.Price: Unbeatable!!! This store was about $15 less than all the other stores in my area. Not only were they cheaper, they gave me a painter's discount and a free t-shirt... I love t-$hirts but I love them even more when they're free.Service: Outstanding!!! The staff here is exceptionally welcoming and knowledgeable. They don't try to upsell you nor trick you into buying things you don't need. You can ask a million and one questions and they will answer them all and still leave you with some genius advice you never thought of. When you come here for the first time you'll feel like you've been coming here forever. I never knew buying paint could feel this good!!!These are the businesses I'll make the effort to support and so should you!!! Thank me later ;).”
“Convenient to my residence but much too small of a space for the amount of product the store carries, and as a result organization and claustrophobia can often become a problem. Several times it’s taken 5-10 minutes to locate an employee when I’ve had questions or am ready to complete a purchase.”

“The place was organized the store was well lit the staff was fast n helpful. They had what i needed and knew how to locate the item swiftly. The prices where ok. The parking seem to be my only problem. I had to park in a bus only zone and run in and out wich with the stores help I was in and out but there's no parking only on the side streets wich are always packed. All in all the experience here was ok no hassles waits or worries.”
“My elderly parents had their new GE fridge installed. The young men were polite and did a wonderful job installing the new fridge. They also did a good job hauling away the P
previous Kenmore fridge. Thank you!”
“Friendly helpful staff. Their new location has off street parking. The entrance is on Musgrave not Haines. I drove past it thanks to maps I stopped and investigated. No sign posted yet”
“Let me just take the chance to share that Graingers is the best hardware store ever. You can get anything there. It's a game changer for any DIY or home improvement pro. I'm designing a custom dining table using 100 year old machine table legs that I recently got powder coated. They have such a vast selection, the customization for peculiar parts/equipment/hardware is nearly infinite.”

“From their sales counter, their sales personnel, their fabrication department, their in stock items from Francis to mini splits AC unit parts and all the tools you can imagine and if they don’t have it, they probably can get it. I’ve been done with these guys for over 30 years it’s just a wonderful experience every time you go into this Company. All the sales reps are very, very knowledgeable.
