“I visited Born To Run in October 2024, after a coworker recommended I check out the store while I was looking for a new pair of running shoes. With Hilary’s (and her sweet dog’s!) help, I bought a pair of Saucony Triumphs. Now that I’ve put some mileage on them over the past months, I’m ready to leave a review.
Having just started running in March 2024 and moving to Philadelphia from out of state in August 2024, it’s safe to say that I had absolutely no idea what I was looking for in a new pair of running shoes. My visit to Hilary’s store was my first time buying a pair of running shoes—before that, I’d just been using my all-around walking shoes. Hilary was generous enough to share her time, knowledge, and expertise with me. First, she had me do a running test to figure out where my feet were striking the ground. Then, she gathered an assortment of many shoes, and guided me through trying them on. She even educated me about shoe sizing—and I learned that I’d be better off wearing a half size smaller than I was previously used to. I landed on a pair of Saucony Triumphs. Throughout the process, Hilary was friendly and kind. When she learned I’d just moved to Philadelphia from out of state, she even recommended some local running groups I could get involved with to help me find a sense of community with other runners in the area.
Months later, after having run in the Saucony Triumphs for a while, I’m quite happy with my purchase. The shoes took a while to break in, but once broken in, they transitioned into a smooth ride. I’ve been especially pleased with Hilary’s recommendation to go a half size down from what I’d normally wear. I’ve never been known for my athleticism—I’m pretty clumsy and can tend to wobble a bit while running. I’ve found, though, that the half size smaller shoes hold a bit tighter to my foot—while still giving them enough space to breathe—and helps to stabilize me while I’m running. That was quite the pleasant surprise!
All around, I was thoroughly happy with my experience working with Hilary at Born To Run. While I’ve since moved back to the state I originally moved to Philadelphia from, I would support Born To Run again in a heartbeat if I still lived in the area. Keep up the great work, Hilary—you helped this new runner find his way about the trail, and that’s much appreciated!”

(I ended up with a shirt pants and a compression shirt) She was so kind and helpful, the store had a great selection she didn’t oversell the items in store which was great cause that can usually be very overwhelming . I ended up do the true fit scan and Terri explained how everything worked I can’t wait to come back and find more pieces for my closet!!”

His measured my feet, watched my gait as I walked, all to provide me with the proper footware. He must have brought out about 8 pairs of shoes for me to try on before I settled on a pair. They have a great selection of all the best running & walking shoes available. And their prices are comparable with Dick's and Amazon. In fact, if I would have brought my shoes from Amazon, I would've only saved 5 cents. If I would have bought it from Dick's, I would've only saved a penny. If you're looking for a good pair of sneakers at an honest price with great, no-pressure, customer service, run or walk down to Jenkintown Running Company, you won't regret it! (FYI: I wound up buying two pairs, not one)”

“Just went there on the advice of my well-known foot doctor to buy a pair of Stegmann shoes. Received a good half hour's attention from the knowledgeable lady there, measuring, trying sizes, discussing fit. A great experience you will not get many places anymore. My wife and sister-inlaw were so impressed that they ended yp buying shoes too, after the same careful attention to fitting. They seem to have a good selection of high quality brands you do not normally see, especially for women.”

I was immediately greeted by Sue Wack at the front registers and she directed me to the aisles I needed to go to. Upon selecting the shoes and getting ready to check out, I saw the deal they were running on socks, but none seemed to be in my size. This woman went to the back of the store to see if they had any more in the store, but to no avail. She was personable, and very patient with my 2 year old son that was curious about everything in the store. I'd highly recommend going here if you're looking for shoes and a level of customer service that I thought was long gone.”

“I visited the Boot N Shoot boutique shop this past weekend with my husband to find a supportive, comfortable pair of boots.
I have a connective tissue disease, that causes some mobility issues, and weak and painful feet and ankles. Shoe shopping is not something I enjoy due to this. The owner Mariana was such a breath of fresh air!
Shopping at her boutique felt like shopping with a good girlfriend! She was SO welcoming, warm, and helpful. She was just lovely!
She spent so much time with me, listened to my concerns, and successfully helped me find the perfect pair.
The boots I selected are both cute and comfortable! (so supportive I was able to walk around for hours that evening at Peddlers a village without any discomfort!)
