“A well hidden gem! They are a warehouse that sells books online. However, there is a door on side of the building for buying books on site. It’s cash only and you have to know what you’re looking for. They will grab it for you while you wait.I purchased a hardback cookbook that sells for $30 + . Mint condition. I paid $5.00.I believe this business is family run/owned. Very friendly and helpful staff.”

“At CCAC South, I have taken classes online and not in person on the campus, so I can comment only on the quality of the professors' instruction and not on the condition of the campus building. In my classes (e.g., marketing, economics, and math), the professors uploaded course materials such as PowerPoints, homework assignments, and exams. Professors did not post any video lectures. Instead, students read textbooks on their own, and the professors were available to occasionally answer questions via email or phone. I personally am able to learn well independently, but other students might need to attend in-person classes to hear professors explain concepts. The tuition at CCAC South was recently only about $118 per credit for residents of Allegheny County, but the fees for technology, online learning, etc. added about 50% more to my bills!”

“A mecca of sorts. Bill is a legend in the alt / indie / underground comics scene and runs this incredible store on his own, seemingly through pure magick and love. The selection is.. overwhelming, to put it mildly, but Bill somehow keeps a mental inventory of everything and will dig through boxes to find you some obscure gems.I wish i could spend weeks here (and a small fortune).Prices are great. The online shop is phenomenal if you can't make it in person.Support this Pittsburgh treasure!”

“Have been for dinner many times - it is always an outstanding experience. Went with friends for brunch for the first time. It was a good experience. Pumpkin bread and beet yoghurt dip were delicious, rest of the dishes were ordinary. The service was a bit sporadic”

“I absolutely adore this shop. They always have the best knickknacks and souvenirs. I like to look at the cook books that they have. I have been shopping here for about 4 years now and their staff is always very nice.”

“Best kids bookstore ever. Selection is expertly curated, inclusive and covers every seasonal holiday from all cultures and backgrounds, which is great when you're in search of something specific. Owner is so passionate about books, can recommend superbly if you just give her an age or general direction, and the gifts selection is unique high quality and can't be beat. Weekly storytime is creative, themed and typically includes a song dance or activity. Get there early as it fills up quickly. We like going to shop, read and play. There's always a few ongoing activity or craft areas for the kids whenever you visit. I've purchased countless gifts there and they even wrap it for you in unique and beautiful paper! Always a hit. We've taken friends and family there and now they're hooked too. I seriously can't recommend this place enough. It's incredible!”

“I come here all the time because I have an unhealthy addiction to making my tbr cart way too full and the staff is super friendly and they have a good selection of books. I love cards unlimited in shadyside as well but I tend to always come here more because the selection is always bigger and I walk out with a new book 90% of the time I visit. They have stuff made my local artists, notepads, cards, etc as well so it’s a good place to stop for gifts too”

“This bookstore has a small but good selection, plus they offer phenomonal and decadent flavors of ice cream! I would like to have a larger African American section to choose from, but the sales staff were sooo nice and accommodating, and they offered tables outside to read and enjoy ice cream. The bookstore is in The Terminal, and this is within the Strip, so you can walk, shop, eat, and enjoy the experience!”

“Excellent professors, awesome experiences, exceptional staff, and an all around positive atmosphere. The staff and professors truly care about you as a student and that is extremely hard to find. It is an honor to say I attended four years of college at PSUGA and wouldn’t trade the time I spent there for anything.”

“Cute place to catch up with a good selection that appeals to modern tastes. Their baristas are incredibly personable and seemed to put some care into their drinks. Some sections have a limited selection, such as philosophy. However, it's worth a visit whether you're alone or with a friend.”

“Bookworms, unite! [Bookstore Name] is a paradise for readers. The smell of books when you walk in is heavenly, and they have a fantastic selection for all genres.”

“I want to add my review since the ones here are old and outdated. New owners took over the store in 2019, kept the Pinsker's name, and reverted it back to a Jewish shop with Judaica, religious and gift items for all ages and simchas, liturgical and Jewish-themed books for all ages, beautiful artwork, some fresh grocery items in a cooler at the front, and a variety of Kosher wine in the back. If they don't have something you need, they will gladly order it for you from one of their vendors. Mrs. Cohen runs the shop and manages to remain friendly and helpful even when serving several customers at once. Pittsburgh is lucky to have Pinskers back again!”

“I visit this store every so often on my way to a mall trip. I'm never disappointed, I can always find at least one book I want and I'll usually be able to find a book that I've been looking for. This is a great place to look for books that are no longer being published. Not to mention that you can find some treasures here and there. I highly recommend this location.”

“Great selection of books and office/composition/art supplies, and you can shop there without any university affiliation. Seems like it caters to students at all levels, their families, and anyone curious from the wider community.”

“Went there to frame a painting, it was very nice experience. Was given proper attention and advice on finding a suitable frame. Also there is a 10-20% off based on how many times you have taken the service. I paid about 130 for medium range nice wooden frame for 18x14 painting. More basic options would cost less. They give honest opinion on the pros and cons too.”

“I always love coming in here whenever we do a circuit of the mall. Good selection of calendars/games/toys, and the person we always see (I believe Brian) is always friendly to my son and answers any questions he has :)”

“Barnes & Nobles is a great place. You can get pretty much any book you'd like and want to read or get a book that you have read before and then read it again! The toys they have there are pretty interesting to look at and yeah that's really it.”

“I love that they don't emphasize or even sell newly published, meaningless fluff fiction like all the other bookstores nowadays. I like the zines, and the 'name your price' rolling bookshelf of books outside, the unique genres, and the not being followed or made to surrender my bag at the counter, lol.The selection of *non*-antiestablishment books, however, is a bit scarce. I mean, even people who've already read all those need something new to read now and again. And I didn't realize or see they had coffee and tea - what? - where was that?..Thank you for the visit to your lovely shop. Good luck in the new year.”

“I needed some Duke apparel for basketball games. I was confused about where the Duquesne University Bookstore was since it is branded as a Barnes and Noble. Upstairs has plenty of Duquesne tee-shirts, sweatshirts, ball caps, etc. there are a few books along the outside walls. The main textbook area is downstairs. I didn't go down there. The apparel is expensive, which is typical for a University bookstore. I got what I needed and grabbed a snack in the integrated Starbucks.”

“Saturday night beer and books are are a greet low key and fun activity when you’re feeling like getting out but not wanting to commit too hard. The staff and people who come through are so friendly and warm!”

“The land of a billion books. If you can't find what you need here, well you'd better get to writing it yourself. They got some pretty awesome candy machines too.”

“Michael in the textbook department was super helpful about a possible textbook change for a class that my daughter is taking part 2 of this summer and part 1 of in the fall. He went out of his way to look up a possible version change before we got to the bookstore after speaking to my daughter and told her that if she had any problems at the start of to school year to stop by and ask for him!”
