“I'm getting gentrified out of Hardwick and checked out Newport and Derby. Lake is nice but Derby had a better vibe as a Monter. Main st Derby had some nice houses. I keep going north. Barre Plainfield Johnson Hardwick now maybe Derby. My Hardwick rent went from 650 to 850 with 200 heat. Cannot eat and have heat or medication pick 2 out of 3. Then your taking a sick day to get paid. Oh that's illegal. LoL”
“Ever since moving to this area a few months ago we'd heard people rave about this place. We finally found ourselves there two weeks ago. Our first impression - is this the right place? Its a tiny, hole-in-the-wall market with an equally tiny deli. We each ordered sandwiches. They came panini-style, which was a bit disconcerting. Two flattened sandwiches. But our first bites made believers out of us! WOW! So delicious! Now we are major fans. Don't judge this book by it's cover!”
“The only place opened early in the morning we could find in downtown Newport ?Good selection of burritos. Dog friendly. We were able to eat indoors, no questions asked. Stuff is helpful, brought our order to the table. Spacious and clean bathroom. Lots of groceries items, fresh produce. Snacks mostly organic so they are not cheap.Street 2 hr free parking.”

“During the recent eclipse, I found an unexpected viewing spot in the Price Chopper parking lot in Newport, Vermont. Not only was the location perfect, but the staff inside were incredibly accommodating, offering great service with a smile and not batting an eye at my makeshift observatory setup outside. A shoutout to Price Chopper for enhancing the eclipse experience with their exceptional hospitality. Five stars!”

“I do most of my grocery shopping at shaws. And I have got to say the Derby. One has always been very clean. No one that I have run into has been anything less than pleasant. It's just a really nice experience whenever I go or when I do the grocery to go. Recently I did have a complaint (it was about a corporate policy, not local) and reached out to corporate around 9am and they got back to me by 430pm that same day with a reasonable resolution. Once again, even though I was complaining about something, everyone was really nice and pleasant to deal with.”

“It's time to update the review since this store has undergone some major changes recently. This is a small grocery store located just a mile or so north of the US border. It has a bakery in the store and you can get some nice pies, breads and cakes. Since the store changed names, the selection of beer has increased dramatically. They now have beer from many of the microbreweries in Montreal. I even found (and bought) a bottle of Kissmeyer beer from Odense, Denmark but brewed in Ontario. We visited the Kissmeyer brewery last month when we were in Denmark. Other parts of the store include the dairy section where you can buy Quebec butter, milk and other products. Quebec milk is better than US milk for cappuccino frothing. They have a small meat department and produce area. If you are American, stop by US Customs on your way to Canada and become familiar with the produce you can and can't bring back to the US. There are lots of rules with produce.”
