“Never seen TJ maxx this organize in along time! It’s easy to navigate and look for the things you needed, I did hit a jackpot and bought a lot of good deals today, I wish I live closed by as this one have my Mango Habanero chips that my kids love so much.”
“Miss Nora is absolutely a ray of sunshine and is always, always so kind and pleasant. She’s easy to talk to and very very helpful. Seth is always great too. We always felt welcome and haven’t ever had the relationships with the employees like these at any other duty station.
It’s very close to the Navy Lodge. Walking distance.
The store itself is a little run down. There are ceiling tiles that have been removed and water leaks so often there’s a stand-in bucket for over a year.
They do have great prices on liquor and a good selection too.
They do have Newport themed items: tea towels, shirts, ornaments, cutting boards, etc. if you’re looking for those to send home or as your own keepsakes.
Lastly, I do wonder why the same grocery items are $3-$7 more here than at the commissary.”
“This is as good as it gets for Walmart. Very large and has a good selection. There is a grocery section, but I am not sure I would trust the produce. Given COVID, I wish they would staff more team members to run the registers so it would help social distancing.”
“I need to shout of my Jamaican hero Clint! I recently needed to put some oil in my car. I grabbed it at Walmart and decided to just add it while I was there because I knew it was pretty low, well the internet told me 5w-20, even though I knew it was 5w-30, I listened to the internet. I was googling and debating if I wanted to go in to swap it when the sweetest guy, was out getting carriages and asked if I was ok and needed help, he offered me sound advice, explaining he works on cars all the time. What a great guy, Mr Rogers said look for the helpers, well today that was Clint a Walmart employee, with a heart of gold! 💛”
“Staff are great - Lena was super attentive and fast. Fay was considerate and thorough as well.Uniforms are expensive but that's a separate issue... my advice is go to a thrift store before coming to OCS to look for stuff that fits.”
“I consistently have a great experience at this Walmart in Newport. One of the best things about this location is that there is always plenty of parking, and the store never seems to be over-crowded, which makes for a much more relaxed shopping trip.
The shelves always seem to be well-stocked, so I can find everything on my list without an issue. I especially appreciate that the self-checkouts are always open and ready to go. Using the Walmart+ Scan & Go feature on the app makes it incredibly easy to get in and out quickly. It’s a reliable, well-managed store that makes running errands a breeze!”
