“I had a set of recently purchased Stanley wood chisels sharpened here several months ago. I’ve been working on renovations of a 1890’s home, and the lumber from that period is incredible dense. Lacourse did a great job, but the chisels didn’t stay sharp for long; probably due to a combination of inferior steel meeting some very hard wood. I went back for resharpening and questioned whether it would be practical, or should I be in the market for new chisels, or maybe invest in sharpening equipment? Ray Lacourse was incredibly generous with his time, showing me the equipment he uses, and described the sharpening process in detail. He even provided contact information for his machinery supplier and approximate cost. I couldn’t thank him enough, and was so impressed with his interest in helping me arrive at the best decision for my circumstances. I HIGHLY recommend this company!”
