“We arrived this morning to rent a minivan for the day. The one make/model that was provided was was not adequate for the task we needed. They were able to find one that had just been returned. That was great. They cleaned it up for us in no time and were very accommodating with our request.

“The rental experience from Thrifty was fine, as was the vehicle! Renting a car from this airport is a bit of a pain because you have to jump onto a shuttle to get to the locations of each rental company to pick up your car. It ads extra time to the process.”

“Great service the only problem with the car was the passenger window couldn't roll down unless the driver rolled it down. Other than that the car was good. Came with a full tank of gas. The shuttle driver Percel was so nice nice and friendly. He definitely deserves a raise. He made sure we knew where we had to go in the airport too!”

“I booked a rental truck with this location before I saw the reviews and was a little nervous about the experience I might have but I had absolutely no issues getting my rental. The lady at the desk was nice and worked quickly. I can see why many people leave low ratings just for the fact the "reservation" is not actually guaranteed, but that is the fault of the company and it sets the service personnel up for failure. My main issue with this specific location is it difficult to find. It is located inside the Citadel Mall but there is no signage outside to tell you where to go, I just went in the closest entrance to where I saw a bunch of Budget trucks parked and found it that way. They could definitely make it easier to find. I was also concerned that there is no official review of the truck's condition once it is in your possession. Personnel did not review it with me and there is no online portal to post pictures of the condition you received it in, which is an unnecessary liability for the customer, they could blame damage you for damage you did not cause.”
“Dee was the absolute best thing to happen to me today. She was the definition of going above and beyond. After hearing I went to the wrong location for pickup and losing my phone in the uber I took to get there after having to put my car in the shop, she did everything in her power to help me get in touch with uber support to help me find my phone and helped me with reaching the right location as well as saving my reservation after my delay. And this was all while helping other customers! After finally getting my phone back she even called me to make sure I had gotten it back before she left for the night. She is easily one of the kindest and most helpful people I have met in my short time in Charleston and Avis had better be paying her real well for the great job she does.”
“Upon arrival the morning of Sunday, August 17, 2025, we were greeted by a lovely lady by the name of Dee. She was kind, accommodating and helpful. After some confusion regarding the payment and booking of our car rental at the Charleston Airport Budget Car Rental location the previous day, Dee was able to rectify the issue for us quickly and effectively due to her professionalism and understanding of better business practices. The customer service that we received at Budget Car Rental at 390 Meeting Street was greatly appreciated after the confusion at the airport. Dee also made sure to ask whether or not we had a good car seat for our young son. We left feeling relieved and ready to enjoy our much awaited 10 day family vacation in South Carolina.”

He helped me in identifying the best rental options available given that it was a last minute rental/having not made a reservation prior to engaging with him.
