La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Charleston Riverview receives mixed reviews highlighting both positive staff and location and significant maintenance issues. The hotel itself is very nice in a beautiful location with an excellent view. Many guests found the rooms clean and comfortable, and the free breakfast is considered a great bonus. The front desk staff is frequently praised for being very knowledgeable, professional, and extremely kind, providing helpful service. However, the hotel has consistent problems with maintenance and upkeep. Multiple guests reported substandard rooms with issues like broken toilet seats, a malfunctioning locked door, loose ceiling plaster, and worn-out mattresses. Several bathrooms need updating, with complaints about low water pressure and problematic showers. A recurring issue is a dank, moldy smell from the HVAC units. While considered good for the price and recommended for visitors on a budget, the hotel is in dire need of professional maintenance.
Rooms have been upgraded a little since my last stay. The staffis friendly and helpful. They are no longer independently owned.They are now corporate, and so you have to pay for parking. 🫣

This location should not be used as representative of other LaQuinta hotels. It needs a refresh, however, the staff was fantastic, they deserve a better location!

Its rediculous how people give budget inn's bad reviews when they have just lost sight that its a budget inn. The sheets, bedroom and bathroom were clean, the front desk receptionist was attentive and the no one called me at midnight asking me if I needed anything. So, yes it gets a 5 star review.
