We call our company Pluff Mud Mercantile as we conjure up fond childhood memories of capturing dinner in a crab trap... collecting sand dollars and other odd artifacts... inhaling the pungent, salt-tinged air as we squished around in that blissful, salty muck. Pluff Mud is more than a squishy salty mud for us. It's a love of the Lowcountry, a lifestyle, and an inspiration for all the creations we are guided to make. Mercantile is an old fashioned name for a general store that carries a little of everything. A place to gather and say hello to a local shop keep that's a familiar face, a shoulder to cry on, or to share a good belly laugh with. Hugs are always FREE and encouraged! Pluff Mud reminds us of playful muddy moments in the marsh.
