“Awesome store in general. Locally owned and has athletic equipment and apparel for whatever where you might be interested in. The staff always greets you and welcomes you in with A genuine sense of Southern hospitality. It's also the coolest place in Columbia to get your tennis racket stringed. Every time I go there I always have a good time because the environment is good so the other customers are always in a good mood and people talk to each other and tell funny stories. There's a parking lot and it's easy to get in and out of. It smells like new shoes on one side and a freshly cracked tube of tennis balls on the other side.”

“Doc fit me for irons a few years ago and more recently for the top end of my bag (driver, fairway woods, hybrid). I find the amount of club and shaft options available these days to be overwhelming. When you couple that with the high cost of clubs these days and the barrage of marketing claims made by the club manufacturers, buying golf clubs can be anxiety inducing. That's where Doc Griffin comes in. Doc has a wealth of knowledge and gives you simple, pragmatic advice on equipment. He also doesn't push you to buy anything, and he has told me on several occasions that he didn't see a need to change a particular club. You are not going to find that level of honesty and integrity with most fitters or golf shops! Doc deals primarily with Callaway, but he can order you whatever you want from any manufacturer. He is also a fantastic teacher and has given me some great swing tips and instruction over the years. Columbia is lucky to have such an experienced professional, and his new location downtown is a great place for a fitting or a lesson. Highly recommend.”

“My daughter and I had a great experience at this store today. When checking out, Sam explained the process to get enrolled in the FX program and how to accumulate points. She also pointed out the survey at the bottom of the receipt to complete. I had just been to footlocker at the other side of the mall that has the FX program and was not offered to enroll and missed out on a lot of points. She suggested I call the customer service to see if they could assist since I didn’t have the time to go back to return and repurchase the shoes. She was an absolute delight and took her time to explain everything. Thank you Sam for your outstanding service!”

Customer service is ok, minus the frumpy, bearded and grumpy manager (who was being curt and sarcastic when associates approached him with questions; he was the reason for the downgrade to 4 stars).
