“Our stay at the Hitching Horse was top notch! The 1905 historic building was in immaculate condition, the decor absolutely stunning, the room we had was beautiful and the king sized bed, best sleep EVER! The shower was amazing! Our host Deb was gracious and amazing! The breakfast Deb prepared was delicious. The entire place, inside and out was super clean. Thank You Deb! You are Amazing! We look forward to staying at the Hitching Horse on our way back home!”

“I have had two visits with The Outpost Lodge (both with fishing trips), and I can honestly say that both times I and my parties had really great experiences. (That's why we came back a second time.) Lake Oahe is a huge lake, and the guides we hired (the last time was Shane Cowan) were top notch. We caught plenty of fish, the boats and gear are great, and the guides (especially Shane) are friendly and helpful. And after a long day of fishing, it's nice to come back to a bed, a warm shower, and meals you don't have to prepare yourself. The Outpost Lodge's meal package is great. You will get more than enough for great food for breakfast and dinners, and a sack lunch is included when you fish with the guides. I would definitely recommend having them cook some of your catch too (as they will prepare it for you.) The only thing you are responsible for is your own snacks and any drinks you buy. We also met and interacted with many other patrons there to stay and fish, and all were friendly and are there to relax. Some even cracked a beer with us outside our cabin and visited one evening. We also met a few other guides that we didn't fish with, and they were friendly too. Brandon and his staff did a great job of making sure we didn't have anything to worry about, and they completely delivered on that. I'd give my entire experiences 10 stars if i could. I/we won't look anywhere else the next time we're up for fishing at Lake Oahe again.”

“A fine place to stay in Pierre. Rooms are clean, spacious and well appointed. It's attached to a decent restaurant with a good bar. Plenty of parking. The resort fee is exorbitant and lame unless your going to spend your entire visit in the pool.”

“Old hotel with some updating done in recent years but still a lot to be done. I just raised my rating to four stars. They have made some very extensive updates. It's still not great, but a marked improvement.”
