“Wonderful place to stay. The lake right next to my room is so beautiful at dawn and is pretty accessible. The hotel also offers free paddle boat access. It took me about half an hour to circle around the lake and have a closer contact with the ducks (which is also very fun). The only regret is the lundary is paid and only accepts coins, which is hard to find for late night washes.”
“What a beautiful place! We had the pleasure of staying here. The owners were very accommodating and friendly. The common area was nice to utilize with my family that was also staying there. “Summer Creek Inn is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay in South Dakota. The rooms are gorgeous, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated, and the grounds are absolutely lovely. “The hotel itself shows its age. The rooms, bathrooms, and furnishings feel dated and could use a refresh. But Denise made up for all of it. When we checked in late and asked for plates and utensils for our dinner, he brought them straight to our room. When our bags were delayed at the airport, he waited patiently with us the entire time. After we checked out, my wife's AirPods and my daughter's favorite bib went missing. Denise searched the lost and found, the housekeeping cart, the kitchen, the host stand, and our old room with me, and he did not want to give up even when I was ready to. We recovered our things the next morning thanks to his guidance.
He is one of the kindest and most helpful hospitality professionals I have met. If you stay here, hope Denise is on shift. Please recognize him!”
“I’m a local real estate broker, and I’ve recommended this place to people who are moving, in between homes, or just need a short-term place to stay. They offer flexible 1–3 month leases at a fair rate, with all utilities included. The property has been updated over the years, and the apartments are nicely furnished with full kitchen areas.
The application process is quick and easy, and the people I’ve referred have had good experiences here. I’d definitely recommend it to working professionals, travelers, traveling nurses, homeowners between houses, or anyone needing a clean and comfortable short- or mid-term rental.”
“Great hotel with a great location to good restaurants and shopping - Sams Club, Walmart, and TJ Maxx. Breakfast was great, however they were short-staffed on housekeeping. Our room was not refreshed. They provided towels, coffee, and trash pickup if you ask the front desk for the service. We recommend Minervas and Dakotahs for restaurants.”

“1. Poor Front Desk Service: The girl at the reception desk during check-in was incredibly unwelcoming and inattentive. She was busy on her phone and seemed completely uninterested in doing her job. Management should consider diversity awareness and customer service training for her.
2. Room Delays & Poor Communication: We arrived early at 2:00 PM, so we understood why our room wasn't ready. However, the receptionist promised it would be ready in 30 minutes and said they would notify us. By 3:15 PM, we were still waiting. We were told they were short two staff members, but the real issue was that the receptionist failed to pass her commitment along to housekeeping.
3. Terrible Housekeeping: We went three days without housekeeping. We had specifically requested daily service, which was promised but ignored. To make matters worse, instead of giving us fresh towels, the staff just refolded our wet, used towels—which was disgusting. I complained to the receptionist, but nothing was fixed the next day.”

“Just passing thru. Great room for having pets with us. Usually we get icky and smelly rooms. Very clean and smelled like it was freshly cleaned. Decent doggy potty area and convenient to Mount Rushmore”
“Conveniently located off I90 in Rapid City and we stayed here as a base to go to Mt Rushmore, Badlands National Park, Wind Cave National Park, Devils Tower and drive the Black Hill Scenic Byways.
The cook to order breakfast has a nice selection and not too pricey, plus complementary coffee to all.”

Donna is a fabulous designer; her and John are great people and I know when they are finished, it will be absolutely beautiful. “Nice quality hotel from the atmosphere to the furnishings to the service shows they strive to be a step above other hotels. I did find however that they do not maintain their fitness equipment as some machines were inoperable or the safety clip ons were broken and unusable. They also do not provide wipes to use to clean your machine after use. That should be a standard protocol in place from a health standpoint.
Other than the fitness equipment I am happy I chose this hotel for my multi-night stay.”
“The location of this hotel was excellent, close to everything. The room was clean and well maintained no issues with that. Front desk staff professional and cordial.
Breakfast fair.. if you are traveling to this area I highly recommend staying here.

“We had a great stay! Michael and Stacy at the front desk were top notch! Pool was too cold and had chemicals at the bottom that didn’t desolve or something. Could use a good cleaning. Room was nice. Could use updating of some wear on curtains and wood decor but it was clean. Would recommend.”

“A reliable, quiet, clean, friendly hotel will a peaceful restaurant to unwind in during the Black Hills Rally. I've made the 1200 mile journey 5 times over 16 years, and Ramkota is my favorite hotel for the past 12 years. It's close enough to Sturgis, and yet, far enough away at the same time. It's an easy launch out to Rushmore and Custer... and I'm only here for the riding during the day, and quiet relaxing at night. At the end of 12 hours cruising the Hills, the Ramkota is a great place to rest my head.”

“Hard time checking in, owner/clerk was out in his vehicle having his party, putting his own priorities ahead of the customers. Had to have another customer go there and get him, before finally getting checked in after waiting about 45 minutes. And apparently, no one else is allowed to work at night, couldn't hear the phone ringing.”

“We were very happy with our stay. It was a last minute decision as we passed through and it was late at night. They accommodated to our dog. A good dog friendly place. The staff was super friendly, prices were good. They also had the best pet fee in town. Rooms were outdated. And the A/C was a little loud and rattled but what do you expect with an A/C from the 80’s. Room was clean, bedding was clean. So for the price you pay it’s worth it.”

The hotel's shortcomings have already been covered in plenty of other reviews, so I won't repeat them. However, I do think it deserves some credit for its fast Wi-Fi and its breakfast, which included omelets, yogurt, and waffles.”

“This Staybridge was a convenient stop on our road trip from Dayton, Ohio, through Montana, especially because it provided a home base for visiting Mount Rushmore and the surrounding Black Hills. The front desk team greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our rooms were cozy, comfortable, and quiet—exactly what we needed to unwind and recharge after a long day on the road. We also enjoyed the wide variety of breakfast options before heading out for the day. With restaurants and local sights nearby, the location made exploring easy and convenient. We stayed at three separate Staybridge Suites properties during our road trip, and each one provided a consistently enjoyable experience. Between this visit, our stay at the Sioux Falls property, and our experience at the Missoula location, Staybridge has earned a place at the top of our list for future trips!”
