“My husband and I spent 5 nights at The Parkman Inn in June 2026. Overall, it was a peaceful and refreshing experience and we (Native Texans) will certainly return next time we are visiting Townsend, Tennessee.
We typically meet with family (6 adults, 5 children under 10) in the area once a year and stay at an alternate resort-style campsite. Us not traveling with children (only a small dog), my husband and I (45 yo) decided this year we would retreat away from the rest of the brood, and this was the perfect choice for us. Sunday through Friday visit was very quiet, the landscaping and amenities are extremely well kept, parking spots are plentiful and well lit (without being over-powering) at night. Staff we met at check-in and encountered as we came and went throughout the day were friendly, courteous, and helpful.
We were not provided with a ton of information at check-in, and having traveled about 15 hours, was not in a mindful position to ask many questions. I’m certain that had I contacted the staff at any point with any questions, they would have been happy to direct, however, it was a very busy vacation for us, and we are both extremely low-maintenance and just took each day here as it came.
Our room was not serviced during our stay. We were prepared with cleaning wipes, paper towels, extra TP, trash bags, and a few extra towels, so this was not an issue for us. I’m sure most of these items would have been available by contacting the front desk, but we did not need to bother. It would have been nice to have the floors cleaned mid-stay, but again, had we asked, I’m sure they would have been accommodating.
There are not any fast-food places nearby, but knowing this ahead of time, we also traveled with a propane stove so we could cook if we got back late. The outdoor patio on each room was perfect for this, and made it feel like home.
Our 2nd floor room included a king size bed, gas fireplace, beautiful mountain view from soaking tub (plenty of hot water!!!), and of course a separate bathroom with shower, sink, and tub. There is also a sink in the dressing area, which includes a laminated bench, perfect for storing suitcases under and on top. There is tons of storage in these rooms, even had our huge cooler in the room without sacrificing space. Best of all, there are no stairs!!! There are ramps that go up to 2nd floors, which is very handy for people traveling with rolling luggage or prone to falls (I am both).
If you are looking for a peaceful, scenic, and hassle-free retreat near the mountains, we cannot recommend The Parkman Inn enough. They offer the perfect balance of beautiful amenities and independent comfort. For a couple looking to unplug and enjoy the area at their own pace, it’s a hidden gem. It provided the exact quiet getaway we were hoping for, and we will absolutely be back!”

“Excellent & friendly service, with easy check-in and massive parking lot. Convenient location for the Cades Cove part of the national park with lots of shops/restaurants/gas nearby. Our balcony offered us a beautiful sunrise view of the mountains. Would 100% return!”

“This place is very nice and the people were so courteous. I have stayed there before in the past and I will stay there again. Like I said the people were so very nice.”
“One of my favorite places I've ever stayed! So clean, cozy, and quiet! I usually struggle to sleep when traveling but everything was so comfortable, I slept like a rock! I even went online and ordered one of the blankets for my own bed at home because of how nice it was! Would stay again.
Rooms: Comfortable with cottage charm! Kimg size bed. Houses were built in the the 1800s, so staying in a historic home was a treat.
Nearby activities: Great coffee shop right up the road. And a lovely nature trail that connects it to the bnb
Walkability: There is a nature trail along the river you can walk to that has a playground on it, and if you follow it all the way it leads to a charming coffee shop!”

“We stayed here two nights. Main reason for travel was to cycle Cades Cove on a Wednesday. The beds were very comfortable. The refrigerator was a nice size. The location was great. Close to cove and other attractions and eating places in area. The breakfast was good.
I saw one small bug in the shower but could not identify the type. We are in mountains. Some guest saw bears from hotel. They are all around this area. People want to see bears from a distance.
The building is old but the maintenance people were very responsive when we reported the broken microwave knob. We did not report the lamp and outlet not working next to one of the beds. Some areas could use a deep clean…stoppers in sinks, tub, shower curtains, floors.
The staff were helpful but could be friendlier.”
“Nice, well-equipped cottage near everything. Perfect size for two people. Staff was very friendly. The goodie bag on arrival was a very nice touch. Would definitely stay here again!”
