“Phenomenal Service from Courtney — She Deserves a Raise AND a Better Checkout Counter! I want to give a big shoutout to Courtney, who was working the evening shift at the Dollar General in Adkins around 6pm on July 14. Her customer service was absolutely phenomenal. While she was hustling to stock shelves (and doing it with purpose!), she noticed that the checkout line was backing up due to a register issue. Without hesitation, she literally ran from stocking to open another register and help customers. She was kind, cheerful, and even shared a laugh with me about how tiny the checkout counter space is (side note to Dollar General corporate: all your stores desperately need more counter space at checkout!). At the end of my transaction, the screen asked how my experience was—and in a total facepalm moment, I accidentally hit the red frowny face instead of the happy one. ? I was horrified and asked Courtney if I could fix it. She gave me a warm smile and said, “No, I can’t. But I am sure it will be okay.” I asked, “Wait, do those screens affect your performance reviews?” and she STILL smiled and said, “I think so. But really, it’s okay.” Well, it’s not okay with me if my accidental bad review gets held against someone like Courtney who is clearly giving 110%. So here I am, making it right. Dear Dollar General Manager: DO NOT take my red frowny face seriously. It was an accident, and Courtney was AMAZING. She deserves nothing but five stars. I hope this review helps offset that rogue finger tap! Thank you, Courtney—you turned a regular stop into a standout moment.”
“Been going to Jay's food Mart on Gibbs sprawl road and every time I go there I always have a good time the people that are very nice and also they have a coin pushing machine and a couple of video slot machines in there I like to play every once in awhile just to relax and talk to the people in there and they have great customer service”
“Overall good selection and helpful staff. More attention should be paid attention to posted prices in produce section, ensuring produce quality. The opening review stated wide selection of international foods I’ve haven’t seen boxed tofu since the renovation project along with several everyday Asian food staples.”
“Very clean and organized but is one of the smaller stores and doesn't have a large arts & crafts section. However, the employees are always helpful and professional.”

“Prices are higher in the app than in the store!! Walmart does the same thing! Just not right!! The people. That bring out curbside are always very nice!”
“I had a great experience at Walmart recently, thanks to a very helpful lady in the spice section. She assisted me in finding everything I needed quickly and efficiently.”
“I just read a review that really criticized the pharmacy at this location as well as the store itself. I gotta say, I'm really surprised because every time I've used the pharmacy, or the grocery side, I've gotten exactly what I needed. So here is my take on the situation. Our H-E-B has probably been here for a while, and what YOU have to remember, is that this used to be a small town, where this H-E-B was perfect for what was needed. Now that the town is rapidly expanding, H-E-B has to expand also, which can cause some inconveniences. So sometimes it's hard to keep stuff on the shelves, especially during the holidays. Don't get your panties in a wad if it's not there, give them a little time to restock it, or ask someone if they have what you need in the back. The folks that work there are amazing and are always willing to help. I love this H-E-B, and all the folks who work there and thank you from the bottom of my heart”
“A cute little market with a meat counter, bakery goods, limited amount of groceries, and produce. The fresh tortillas are still warm when you purchase. Check cashing and money orders is offered here. Lines can get a little long but the wait is not too bad”
“I'm disabled. Checked out today around 9:30. Your Checker was so patient and helpful. Smiling the whole time.( Checked out on aile 11) your aile people would stop and ask if I needed help, also Smiling. Floresville people are grumpy always frowning, I'm 72 and they out grumpy me. LOL Excellent Operation ? ? ?”
“Very convenient place to shop for just about anything you can get at a large grocery store and more. I love that I can go in and out and not have to wait in a long line. This is also my favorite place to coupon!”
“Great service and added benefit/value added to the community. They provide products at comparable prices. There are several convenience stores on my normal route to/from home/work, but I choose to take the detour to take my business to Montgomery Food Market. They make an effort to get to know their customers. Definitely service with a SMILE. Thank you Mr. M!!!”
“The employees are friendly and I like coming to this store but the outside is in need of specialized assistance. UPDATE: Since new ownership has taken over, the store parking lot has shown significant improvement. Thankfully, the rif-raff have all scattered. Keep it up!”
“I ordered to have my prescriptions delivered for free. They told me it would be about six hour wait but the delivery driver showed up about 3 1/2 hours after I called them. They're pretty quick and efficient once you receive the prescriptions you sign your signature on to his cell phone and then they leave. It's very convenient.I highly recommend using H-E-B prescription pharmacy delivery, it's great for those that are senior citizens or who is sick and can't get out of the house”
“I always enjoy shopping at Dollar General! The store is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. The staff are friendly and helpful every time I visit—they’re quick to assist and always greet customers with a smile. Prices are great, and the selection keeps getting better, especially for household essentials and seasonal items. It’s the perfect place for quick trips when I need something affordable and convenient. Highly recommend this location!”

“Excellent service some of them happy to help you when couponing and they are happy to help you always and friendly people. The lady with the glasses she is awesome best of best.”
“It's always a convenient place when needing to grab something quick. Every time I visit I feel like I am navigating through inventory needing to be stocked.”
“I shop here a majority of the time, and today I had a problem with self checkout. But the partner Leo was patient with me, and stayed to help me despite being alone when it was busy. Quick to tend to others and myself. A king young man, amazing that HEB has an outstanding partner.”
“I am retired USAF NCO, I love the beautiful floral arrangements that I got from this floral shop. The price was fair and the flowers were outstanding. I recommend this shop for all your floral needs.”
“Nice place to shop I recommend going early in the day or anytime after 7pm not so crowded and easier to find parking. The meat prices and produce are lower priced then Walmart I have noticed. Also better variety. Happy shopping Ya'll.?”
“I've recently moved into this area and found this store close to home. I recently went in to take advantage of a special buy and the young lady who helped me was very helpful and very nice. She helped make my trip quick and easy. They keep this store pretty well stocked making it easy to stop in here and pick up what I need. Keep up the good work.”
“I must say, this Walmart REALLY made my day! I came here from the Alamo Ranch area since they had an opening for an oil Change. Well they truly EXCEEDED my expectations! The bathrooms were immaculate, EVERYTHING was well stocked, the store was clean and organized and guess what?! When I got my car back from the oil Change they had vacuumed my carpets and cleaned my windshield!?????This is LITERALLY only my second time out of the hundreds of times getting my oil changed by Walmart getting my carpets vacuumed! It's on their checklist but I have NEVER received that service or a cleaning of my windshield! Way to go Walmart! This has made my day a heavenly one for sure! It's the smallest things! Thank you so much!! ?”
“I love that FedEx packages can be sent here for pick-up! So convenient when there’s no one at home to sign for a package!! Whoever thought of this is a genius!!”
“I needed the Autocare Center due to a tire blow out, and Walmart carried the one I needed. Jayla is one of the main service desk workers. She is so knowledgeable and efficient, I don't know how she keeps up with with how busy it can get some times but she does, and is so pleasant to boot. I appreciate the positive energy Jayla, thanks for your help.”
“The HEB Car Wash in La Vernia is such a great value for our small community! I really appreciate that you can save extra when you pay at the pump—it makes the wash even more affordable. For a quick car wash, it does a solid job and leaves the car looking clean without being overly priced. It’s convenient, fast, and nice to have right here in town. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a reliable, budget-friendly wash close to home.”
“This is my go to store for convenience. In and out. Plus they have good deals.i picked a 15 pack of Keystone e light for $6.50.. unheard of $3.00 off the regular price. I'm also liking how fast I was in and out.”
The Cincinnati-based supermarket giant will open about 110 new stores in fast-growing markets by 2029 and introduce three updated store formats, executives told investors Oct. 20 at the company’s Investor Update in New York. Kroger already runs about 2,700 stores in 35 states. The formats come in three sizes, a bit like small, medium and large, matched to each market. Mary Ellen Adcock, Kroger’s executive vice president and chief merchant and marketing officer, walked through the lineup.
Walmart shoppers want a head start on the holidays, and money explains a lot of it. Some 44% of respondents call affording the holidays their top stressor, and 61% say holiday costs shape their shopping mood. Asked what would make the season easier, 70% picked lower prices and 57% picked more deals and promotions. Convenience ranks lower: 30% want one-stop shopping across categories, and 20% want faster delivery.
Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
