Founded in 1941, Mainspring Schools is Austin's oldest preschool and one of the top early education programs in Texas. Mainspring serves children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old and is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
Mainspring is on a mission to deliver the highest-quality early education and care to Austin’s children—along with services so each child and family has tools for lifelong success.
Mainspring was the first childcare center in the nation to be located in a federal housing development. The school brings together children and families from diverse backgrounds. 95% of Mainspring alumni start kindergarten at or above school readiness levels. 75% are eligible for tuition subsidies.
