“If you’re handy with bikes and want to repair or install something yourself, Yellow Bike is a great place to work on your bike for free. If you need someone to repair, it seems to cost around $20. They also have a selection of affordable used parts and accessories if you need something for your bike. Overall, it’s a useful place for people who want to maintain, repair, or upgrade their bikes without spending a lot of money. I visited on a public holiday, so it was very busy. It may be less crowded on regular days, when you might have more time to ask questions, get guidance, and learn how to do the repairs yourself.”

“Went for Pumpkin Nights. Light show was pretty good. Not spectacular, but worth the visit. We missed the fire show but people said it was good. I really thought the whole setup would be a little better. Food was awful. Eat first. I thought there would be food trucks but the stands they had just had super greasy food.”

“Unbelievable group of caring individuals. My mom lives in a low income senior citizen community- they have been out of power and water since Sunday. No one has checked on them since then. Majority of the elderly are walker or wheelchair bound and are relying on home health/medical care on a daily basis. I have contacted the State, City of Pflugerville, American Red Cross, Department of Aging and disability and other entities. No one cared to help. I was given the number to the Austin Disaster Relief Network and spoke with Donna, who prayed with me and then got the ball rolling. Within 4 hours there were multiple individuals, one by the name of Jimmy, who delivered water and food to some the residents of Cambridge villas. My mom told me the volunteers knocked on a lot of doors there, checking on the elderly's conditions and providing food and water. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART FOR CARING. I WILL BE FOREVER GRATEFUL FOR YOUR GENUINE CARE. I do not remember everyones name,but Donna, Jimmy and Erin were only a few. You all are angels in my eyes and heart forever.”

“My son, who has ADHD and Autism, has done wonderfully in the extended YMCA program and summer camps. They truly allow kids to be kids; they are well-equipped with plenty of staff and offer a lot of support for children with special needs. The camps and programs he was in prior didn’t understand him, made an issue about everything, and made him follow a strict schedule with out giving him any optional activities, while the YMCA has plenty of activities for your child to do. It’s a place where kids can be themselves, they are not put down, and they understand regular kid behavior as they don’t make a big deal about every little thing. I never worry about my child’s well-being and whether he is doing well. My child has flourished with these programs/camps. Most importantly he feels welcomed and safe. I highly recommend them, and my son is happy!”

“A small but very popular chapel amongst the unhoused and those in need as well serving both breakfast from 9:30 to 10 a.m. and lunch from 11 to 12 pm,, I'm not sure if they provide any other resources but it never hurts to ask, the line for the food services does get long so I recommend you get here at least 30 minutes to 45 minutes early”

Coach Jessica is encouraging and challenges the kids to push themselves in a very supportive way. BLL does an amazing job at preparing students for the shows and you can really tell. They’re such a treat to watch. Can’t recommend BLL enough!”

“Our family feels so lucky to have stayed at the Ronald McDonald House. We were staying at a hotel before we got accepted at RMHC for the last week of our son’s therapies. Instantly we felt like we were staying at a cozy house! There are so many meals and the kitchen is stocked. Laundry detergent is provided and almost anything you’d need! They have a rec room and small library that is so sweet. There is a fitness room too and the toy room has tons of excellent development toys for kids of all abilities and ages. They also have a nice playground including adaptive swings which is gonna be great for our son when he is big enough! There is a grill too. All in all amazing experience, we felt so cared for and just shocked by the generosity of so many people including the volunteers!! Thank you to everyone RT one at RMHC!!”

“I haven't been to the North Austin YMCA in about three years. I remember actually applying to an executive employment opportunity at the location and I stopped through to see about a course offering back then.Yesterday I decided to pass through. As soon you walk through the entrance there's a customer service desk so YMCA members can scan themselves in, and patrons can be assisted by the front desk clerks. They're eager to assist as soon as they see you. In fact I received a free day pass and was told the next time I visit I would pay the customary $15 for a day pass.One of the first things I noticed is that the lobby floor is shiny and everything looks really clean. Patrons were steadily coming in with work out gear, and parents were escorting their children here and there. This was around 6PM and the parking lot had about 50-60 cars or maybe more. This tells me the community is satisfied with the services provided by the location, and both of my experiences were welcoming. Before leaving I actually browsed over a bunch of fliers on a table highlighting course offerings for children and adults.There's not much going on in regards to community building taking place in North Austin. It's good to see the YMCA organization in the area and doing a great job. Stop on through if you're in the neighborhood or visiting.”

“I was chronically homeless for five years and became gainfully employed at Cava. However, due to the fact I was staying at an extended stay, I do not qualify for Community First Village. I have a friend who lives there and pays $415.00 a month, while I pay $1,200.00 making $16.75 an hour. The place is beautiful, the rule baring me from getting in, not so beautiful! God bless everyone there, including the staff! Merry Christmas!”

“I have had all three of my kiddos attend Sweetbriar. My oldest started when he was two and is now almost 8. We couldn’t be happier with the care they have provided for us. Teddy Mabel and Massimo absolutely adore the whole sweetbriar team. They have a very structured safe and fun space for all the kids. We get updates and pictures throughout the day which is always nice to see. We love and consider all the teachers at sweetbriar part of the family. Maria cares so much about her center and it shows. Highly recommend!”
