I discovered a flat tire on my truck, and fortunately I had a certificate on that tire. The damage was on the sidewall, so it couldn’t be repaired. To make things more complicated, my spare was so old it disintegrated when I tried to use it. With no usable spare, I couldn’t drive the truck to Discount Tire, so I hauled the flat tire there in my other car.

Jose took it from there. The identical replacement tire wasn’t in stock, so he arranged to have one brought in from another store. He also recommended a more economical tire to use as my new spare. Once the first new tire arrived and was mounted, I could bring the truck in to address the remaining issues.

Jose then suggested a smart, cost‑effective plan: use one of my remaining older tires as the spare and mount both new tires on the front of the truck. Discount Tire even called me in ahead of my scheduled appointment when their workload opened up, keeping everything moving quickly.

Bottom line: Jose guided me to the most economical solution, coordinated the entire process efficiently, and kept me informed every step of the way. Excellent customer service from start to finish.”

“I want to share my experience in a constructive way, because I believe businesses grow through honest feedback. While my first impression wasn’t ideal, I’m not leaving a low star rating as everyone has opportunities to learn, and I hope this review serves that purpose.

I stopped by yesterday a little after noon. I knew the shop was close to closing, and since I was already driving by, I came in briefly to make an appointment to have a failing motor mount replaced. As a woman, I’m aware that it can sometimes be difficult to be taken seriously in automotive environments, so I made an effort to explain the issue clearly and directly to minimize unnecessary back-and-forth. Here’s how the conversation went:

Andrew: “What seems to be the problem today?”
Me: “I was driving by and know you’re closing soon. I just wanted to schedule an appointment—my right-side engine mount is collapsed. The car vibrates in Park, Neutral, and Reverse but stops in Drive.”
Andrew: “Why do you think it’s the engine mount?”
Me: “Because I saw it with my own eyes.”
Andrew: “So either you’re a mechanic or you know a mechanic— which one is it?”

I’ll leave the rest of the interaction out, as it isn’t necessary for the point I want to make. What is important is that comments like this can come across as dismissive and condescending, especially toward women who are often already fighting to be taken seriously when discussing their own vehicles.

I’m sharing this because respect should be the foundation of any customer interaction regardless of gender. Please take this as an opportunity for coaching. Women are fully capable of understanding vehicle issues, and we deserve the same level of professionalism and courtesy as any other customer.

I do hope my next experience is more reflective of the standards I know many shops strive to uphold.”

“Cannot recommend this location any higher. I have been to numerous Discount Tire locations across the country for several cars. I am a repeat, loyal customer, but this Leander, TX location exceeds service expectations.

My first service with them about two weeks ago, they pretty much stayed on schedule with my appointment time and switched my all season tires for high performance summer tires in less than thirty minutes at a reasonable price.

I recently had an emergency moderate leak. I have very high end summer performance tires. I did not have an appointment, but I showed up about twenty minutes before they opened. They greeted me at the door about 15 minutes before scheduled opening, evaluated my car and pulled it in immediately for service. Parker advised me rather quickly of the good news that they could repair the $475.00 tire, and I was driving away from discount tire at 8:05 a.m. when they opened at 8:00 a.m.

Parker was professional and genuinely sensitive to my situation, and unbelievably attentive. This was not normal service from a tire service and repair business. As noted, i have been loyal to Discount Tire Company and have given them a lot of business. But this recent service from the Leander, TX location has been extraordinary.”
