“A lot of negative reviews but I have not had one problem in this store and I go weekly. There are a lot of elderly staff up there. However, if you are polite to them, they are very polite. There's one elderly African American lady up there that is an absolute doll. And I try to make sure I hit her cash register every time I go in. Usually I can get help if I have a question from the other workers. However, it could be a little cleaner, but after I see what all the workers go through on a daily basis, I understand why it's harder to keep it clean. I think they could use some more staff. But you have to remember it is a dollar store. This isn't Michael's.”

“This location has some wonderful employees, but tonight I went and the young man gathering carts took the trash that was left in one of the carts and literally threw it on the ground instead of throwing it away in a trash can. WHAT? WOW!”

“This review is for the pharmacy. My doctor called a prescription in 20 minutes before closing and I called to see if I could pick it up before close. Rhonda assured me she would have it ready before close even if I had to wait a bit. The staff were so sweet when I arrived. I ended up having an embarrassing coughing fit due to a dry throat and the woman at the register got me water while I was waiting for my insurance information to be input. Everyone was so kind and not at all judge mental. The pharmacist explained my meds thoroughly but quickly and was warm and kind. This might be one of the best customer service moments I’ve ever experienced.”

“I like this store, but the manager harasses and abuses the employees, a close relative of mine was harassed so much that this relative had to quit, she needs to be fired. Discrimination at its finest with this manager. HR will definitely be hearing about it.”

“Employees were nice and helpful. Found some good deals. The only problem was a huge leak in the roof. Please get this fixed. There were several aisles I couldn't even walk down because of giant tubs filled with rain water.”

“I am going to give Kohl’s a 5 only because the cashier- Sandra was so friendly and helpful. I hardly shop in Kohl’s so I am not extremely familiar with all the discounts. My son has moved to his own place so I was buying kitchen and houseware items my total was over $700 but after Sandra applied discounts, my coupons and Kohl’s cash it was a little over $250. I was so happy and my son loves it all.”

“Okay I'll be real with you we need to dress shoes for my son's graduation he's not the dressy type I did not want to spend $80 on a pair of dress shoes that he would only use for one day but hey you know what we walked into Melrose and then the back corner they had a wide array of dress shoes for men comfortable to any other shoe I think my son actually said they were comfortable and they looked real good for his graduation am I a cheapskate no I try to be a smart skate laugh out loud this place was nice clean and heavily stocked”

“I love Boomer's!! The bf & I are huge Mavs fans, so we go to Dallas whenever we can for games... but that's usually all we do. The basketball thing. We decided to poke around in Oak Cliff & Bishop Arts District, and I thought it was strange that no one was walking around... you know, on the sidewalk? .... anywhere. But I guess that's just an Austin thing? Anyway. We wandered in & out of shops & galleries & I am NOT a shopper & I was about to just say, "let's go back to the car so we can go back to the hotel so I can be bored in the hotel room" when I saw a CUTE messenger bag in the window. I walked inside, found a dress (super cute), a scarf (I had no idea I was so into scarves, my goodness!), some cigars (I don't even know if I can smoke them but it seems so fun right now), a few shirts, and .... S#@^. They're out of the messenger bags. Except the one on the display. I'm gonna be that person. There, I did it. The GREATEST thing about this shop is that it's in Dallas. Let me explain: all the things I found here can be found at any number of shops in the Triangle, on South Congress, 2nd Street, all over Austin in hip little boutiques. But most people in Dallas don't dress like most people in Austin. So my awesome messenger bag was only $11. The dress was $19. You get the idea. I'm not saying I will EVER drive to Dallas just to go shopping... but if I'm there again any time soon (I will be, it's basketball season!), I'm going to head back to Boomer's.”

“I love Target but Target is taking on some of Walmart's practices. And we know that isn't a compliment! I despise having to check myself out when I'm shopping. During this visit, I had to check myself out and was paying cash. The young lady had to come over once to check my ID for my wine purchase. Then she had to come back to un-jam the machine because my bills were stuck in the cash thing. All of this could be avoided if they would just have cashiers in place to check us out!”
