“I've been going to this store for since I moved to Galveston. I have always been treated so kindly here. I don't personally drink but I do buy alcohol for my family. I would say they have a wide selection in my limited experience. In any event I totally recommend this store based off of the great customer service that's provided alone.”

“Decided to stop by while visiting to see if they sold anything I'm not used to finding at home. I used to be able to buy heirloom tomatoes in my hometown but haven't seen any for about a year and a half now.

I spotted some heirlooms and bought 5lbs, almost every one they had. I LOVE heirloom tomatoes and my life sucks without them. All is right with the world, now.

Otherwise, fairly typical grocery store experience. Staff were pleasant, checkout was easy, clean store and no odd smells.”

“Great store in a remote Galveston location (kid-south island) that carries everything you need, from groceries to housewares to health and beauty and more. Great prices and convenient for tourists staying in the area - like us.”

“Neat little shop. Easy walk from the hotel to get some decently priced bottles of water or soda. Friendly folks and yes right there on the seawall. Was just there last night.”

“I love that this DG is just a short walk/bile from my house. Having said that, I often get in my car and drive the 9 extra miles to go to the DG on the west end of the island. This store is always trashed. Its filthy.. dusty and sticky floor from spilled merchandise I'm sure.. Shelves emptied onto the floor. Merch mixed up and in completely different areas from where it should be. The staff has always been nice and helpful so they just need to hire some extra staff to clean the store daily.”

“Nicole, Randalls' Employee, distinguished herself by providing excellent service above and beyond what I would ever have expected. After finding my undelivered order from the previous day, Nicole took it upon herself to ensure a customer's order would be delivered. Ignoring any possibility of confronting an irate customer, Nicole fearlessly took responsibility and made contact with me. Nicole's customer relation skills allowed her to calmly and patiently to listen to me tell of my frustrating delivery experience. She then empathized and insured me she would resolve the issue. Nicole's knowledge of the customer order and delivery procedures, allowed her to establish a new delivery time quickly. Then she went beyond the norm, by guaranteeing the delivery, "if needed" would be delivered by herself. After her shift was completed, the order had still not been picked up for delivery. So as promised, Nicole took her personal time to make the delivery to my door. Nicole's integrity and dedication to Randalls and its customers are beyond reproach. Thank You Nicole and also Thanks to the Manager of Galveston's Randalls Grocery Store. (Sorry for the late posting - this happened on the 13-14th of July 2022)”

“Arlan’s is a very convenient store for me grab the items I need for the meal I’m about to start! The prices are a little higher than the regular grocery store but it’s worth it for the convenience of not driving to the other side of the island. The people who work here are super nice & the store is really clean. I used to always say “I’m here for the music!” Can’t say that now. They always had some great R&B playing! The owners have changed and it sort of feels like I have a mariachi band following me or I’m there for a big fiesta. Not the market vibe I’ve enjoyed for so long. Now it’s a mix of country and tejano. I love both of those music genres but not when I’m there to get groceries. One minute I’m in fiesta mode, next minute I’m wanting to cry all of my sorrows away to whoever passes me with their headphones on (to block out the new choice of music)”

“Although “Walmart” has a reputation for wildness, this location is clean, busy, and the floor staff actually assist patrons.
Restrooms are usually clean also.
Highly recommend this location.

(If you feel profiled or discriminated against by any staff, take notes and immediately report them to the appropriate managers and/or online. I had an encounter with someone named Christal (gum chewing, short box bleached blonde hair, multiple piercings) that I reported today. Been shopping at this location since 01/2019, NEVER an issue until today, 05/28/25. Other patrons and associates mentioned that she’s problematic and argumentative, which was a part of my experience with her. She assumes patrons of color are thieves and receive SNAP.)”

“I wish every Kroger was like this. They have everything you need. When you walk in the bakery is set up so beautifully with all types of desserts on display. They have fresh fruit bowls with tajin packets in them, fresh salads to go, super easy and helpful especially since the beach is across the street. The deli serves hot food plates. My kids loved the food, couldn’t get a pic because they tore into so fast. They also loved the chicken tenders. On Sunday they have bbq plates and soul food, 10/10. They sell water bottles and sodas for .69-$1. They have beach toys and necessities. In two days, I patronized this Kroger at least 7 times. The employees were friendly, I wish I remembered his name but it was a guy in the deli area that wears glasses. He literally greets every single person in his view.”

“Good prices on cold drinks, coffee, on beer and wine, cigarettes and vapes. Just a couple of blocks off the Seawall on 45th. They have gas, lotto, fishing equipment, beach stuff, basic groceries, basic car stuff and hardware, some gifts and souvenirs. They have those game machines, too. Smoking in the lounge. It's a tiny store with a little bit of everything.”

“This is my favorite store in the entire island. The owners manage the store and maintain high standards. The store is clean and ORGANIZED daily by a hard working lady every morning. They carry your favorite brands at AFFORDABLE PRICES. One of the things I enjoy here is the COFFEE as it’s only $1 for a large cup and the owners allow you to have a second cup in case you may need it that morning. Perhaps, one of the highlights here is they carry your favorite BEERS that are affordable for everyone. They have a smoking area on the back by the CASINO and coffee and office chairs to enjoy your coffee and cigarette while enjoying the machines. Newspaper, pay phone in the front for your convenience and an electric plug to charge your phone if needed. ATM in the back and store accepts APPLE PAY. There is MONEYGRAM and not western union for you emergency needs. The staff is always there cleaning and maintaining the store WELL ORGANIZED with your FAVORITE BRANDS. They always open at 6:00 AM SHARP for you before you head out to work. The locals hang out outside in case you have questions and they are always very down to earth ?. Everybody here is NOT UPTIGHT so feel comfortable and relax while you do your shopping. GAS STATION in the front at COMPETITIVE PRICES. WELCOME TO YIUR REDNECK PARADISE. Hope you enjoy your stay in Galveston AS MUCH AS I DID. Thanks again for the great service and you can add one more LOYAL CUSTOMER to your list. I hope people capture this review and flick your HARD WORKING BUSINESS. This is your first stop when visiting Galveston. I hope this serves you well to both the Bussiness and your new customers.A very happy customer.”

“My family and I was coming from a cruise trip and ended up having to walk to this store and wait for my our ride, the store clerk was patient and kind. And everyone in the surrounding neighborhood was very nice and welcoming despite it being the hood. A few junkies high and zoned out but nothing I couldn’t handle and protect mines from. All in all great people and big huge shout out to the guy Cmore for making us feel safe and showing so much love”

“This Mexican meat market has everything that you would need for from day-to-day things to fajita barbecue party. Many employees or spanish-speaking so it's hard to get some help if you don't speak Spanish. Many products are imported. They have fresh meat many different cuts. Separate from the butcher shop there is a little restaurant inside. They serve all kinds of tacos you can even buy cooked meat by the pound.”

“Family owned and run store. They are usually very friendly and if your lucky they will have their family dog there. Prices are a bit high but you are paying for convenience. Did have bugs once in a package of boxed rice.”

“Excellent service, kind employees. Garrett, one of the cashiers, was willing to help me out when my bag broke in the parking lot and replaced my milk for me. Made my day.”

“That's my daily spot. Pop over from the Humane Society to grab a snack and decompress before going back to care for 200+ critters. I would be disappointed if I had to go to one of the other two stations right next door. I don't know how they survive. They don't have anywhere close to the same amount of selection. This is the better spot to stop.

If you're worried about the prices, you shouldn't have come over the causeway. That's everywhere in G town. Ain't their fault. Blame capitalism and move on.”

“Quick and convenient gas location. A good number of pumps available. You can pay outside, but there isn't a NFC tap and pay option. And the snack prices are good too.”
