“12 Jun 2023We nearly always come here for watch battery replacements and minor jewelry repairs. We have never made a major purchase. They stock and sell rings, necklaces and watches. Big on Citizen Eco. They can be depended on to replace watch batteries while you wait for a reasonable price in almost any watch. Once they were hesitant to replace the battery in one of my Tags, because the battery had to be ordered. I've had a gold necklace clasp changed to a lobster-style clasp. They did a nice job, not damaging the necklace. Give them a try.”

“The ice maker on my KitchenAid refrigerator stopped working, so I gave Hugo Ortega a call. I was asked to send photos of the refrigerator model number, the face of the fridge, and of the ice maker itself. The text I received indicated that yes, Mr. Ortega does work on that unit, and a service call was scheduled two days hence. As it turns out, Hugo Ortega did not appear for the service call, but rather his son Tim. It seems that the father, Hugo, tends to work primarily on washer/dryer, and Tim deals with refrigerators and dishwashers. (They are both able to work on any of the appliances, but they have their particular interests, according to Tim). Personable and polite, Tim went through his diagnostics, explaining as he proceeded, and determined that the problem was the ice maker's motor. And.. he has a Kitchenaid ice maker on his truck. But here is where it gets a bit interesting. It seems that the icemakers on this brand can be different: some sit on the side of the freezer, some sit in the center of the freezer...and one is not an exact "bolt In" for the other. He stocked the side fitting unit, and I have the centrally sitting unit. So what Tim did was dismantle his unit, and used the parts to fit on the chassis of my unit. As he nimbly disassembled and reassembled the units, I was reminded of a scene in "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly", in which Tuco takes apart several revolvers, and knew which parts would fit the chassis of his new revolver. WOW. DOUBLE WOW! With the unit now working as new...which essentially it was...I realized this young man definitely knows his refrigerators!! But the story gets better. I asked if he works on Jennair Downdraft glass stove tops, as one of my burners was not working. He doesn't really service these units, but he went through an online parts manual, and given the symptoms I described, he told of three possible defects...and he listed the parts numbers and the suggested prices for the parts. I was pretty impressed with his efforts for an appliance he doesn't work on! So can I recommend the Ortegas for appliance repair? Definitely! They are my "go to" repairmen now!! Good Luck Yelpers”

“We visited on Dec 30th to get charms attached that were gifted for Christmas. We are new to TX and have never heard of James Avery. My daughter got her first bracelet from a Dilliard's in FL. We went to Dilliards at La Canterra to get the charms attached and were just brushed off. We were told we would have to wait 2 weeks and when I said I'm sorry I'm confused I thought you just attached them (because that's how she purchased it) we were told they were overwhelmed by Christmas and can not do it in store. We decided to go to the Rim Location. They were also super busy. However, the customer service is on point!1. My daughter is 13. She was so anxious just trying to figure out her order. We learned that it's free to add charms but if you change the order later it would cost $5 per charm. The associate was so patient, never made any passive aggressive comments and just reassured her as she saw the line growing. We were given a receipt and told the bracelet would be ready by 5 but we could always call to see if it was ready earlier. The associate also told us to save the bags because they are only given with online purchases and they are so handy!2. We called and it was ready earlier so we went back to pick it up. My daughter tried to put the bracelet on but couldn't get it to clasp. We realized the placement of a charm was blocking the clasp. We were promptly assisted to get the bracelet fixed.I was happy about this visit because it empowered my daughter to make sure she was happy with her items and the experience was so much better than the Dilliard's mini shop.”
