“Heading back to this cozy little bookstore is always a treat. Tucked away among shelves full with used books, VHS's and collector's toys. With no real intention of buying anything, I found myself drawn to their impressive selection of collector's toys, especially the nostalgic Jurassic Park ones, which, upon some research, I discovered were from the year 2022. The quality was unmatched, and it was clear these toys were special. My son, equally enthralled by the dinosaur toys, couldn't contain his excitement. But when we discovered a broken leg on one of them, the woman at the front desk saved the day. She even gave us a discount and hunted down the missing piece, going above and beyond to help. Back home, with a makeshift bandage, our dino toy was good as new. And knowing that the resale value of $70 for the 9" T. rex would contribute to supporting such a charming bookstore made it even more worthwhile. Huge thanks for the stellar service and understanding, especially during our son's mini meltdown. This bookstore not only offers a treasure trove of goodies but also top-notch customer care. Can't recommend it enough - you never know what gems you'll stumble upon!”

“So, I feel bad leaving an "average" review, but I am not very satisfied with how the store is evolving. My understanding is that Kinokuniya locations in the US tend to specialize a bit based on what is popular in the area, so I don't really blame the store for the stock or organization of items. When the store first opened and I would come, the space seemed pretty even in product, with stationary, figures, art books, language books, children's area, knick-knacks, films, and so on. Lately, however, which the store does carry most of the other stuff, the focus seems to be overwhelmingly anime and manga. I love anime and have enjoyed manga in the past, but I preferred it when the products and orders at the store seemed more varied. For instance, it appears as if they cut back drastically on their greeting cards and the stationary section feels less robust than it used to be.Still, a great store with interesting stuff, however! Four stars, imo, isn't bad, just a sign that this store is a bit more niche and attracts a certain crowd. Also, the hours are a bit short for a retail store.”

“Love coming here to purchase gifts or anything related to the Catholic Church. Love the staff is so welcoming and the atmosphere is homey. Definitely recommend shopping here for all your Catholic necessities.”

“Why do I ever go to any other bookstore? I mean, I get event releases and such, but for a book that's been out for any number of days, this is the place to be. I've been able to complete a lot of sets for my classroom in their clearance section. I even found a few comic back issues that I didn't want to pay back issue prices for.This will now be the first stop rather than anywhere else.”

“I think this is one of the best resale stores in the area. Variety and quality can typically be counted on with every purchase. AND the proceeds go to building homes for Habitat for Humanity. That gives low income folks an opportunity to purchase a home they can afford with sweat equity and affordable payments.”

“Came in here to check it out since it just opened and they are super nice folks. The two girls where super helpful and there prices are below FMV. They are a true mom and pops spot with a never ending selection of books. I will be coming here everytime I visit from California.”

“Just in the area checking out little shops near UNT and came across this place. Lots of neat tshirts, art supplies, college school supplies, etc! We've been here maybe 4-5 times have purchased a handful of shirts and have been happy with all of them. I really love the comfort color shirts, seem to be the best quality for your money. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Definitely a place to check out if you are in the area.”

“Giving it 4.5 stars. First off I didn't know you could review schools on Yelp, I was looking for a store near campus and stumbled upon this page. I attended TWU about 4 years ago and at first I hated it. I think I was just put in with the wrong crowd of people...like at any school a huge part of the experience is who you interact with and what experiences you get out of. Once I found a group of like minded people I enjoyed it. To be honest I was a little hesitant at first committing to attend school here because I knew no one. Most of the programs are fantastic! They really are there for you every step of the way. I've only had a few negative experiences: housing- I had 4 roommates in one day before school started one year and the person in charge was not the best at their job or communication. Then when I finally ended my housing contract (TWU Select--they no longer have these apartments or work with Scott brown anymore) they didn't go through the apartment until March and I had moved out in December and already received my deposit back. I got a cleaning charge for dust. I fought that charge and won as I researched contract law and leasing agreements and started speaking in legal jargon (not a lawyer and majored the polar opposite of political science). I'm not sure if they were mad that I found a loophole in the contract that let me move out a semester early without fees due to a departmental required internship because the next year that one line got changed which I find funny‍. The only other negative experience was the underground food quality and sanitation, but that had since been alleviated with the new student union in Hubbard hall and different company in charge of dining. (Kids these days have it lucky). It's kind of hard on the weekends being a residential student because of the high commuter student population that it sometimes felt a little dead on the weekends especially with less of a sports following like other colleges. Other than that TWU is financially a good choice especially if a bachelor's degree is not going to be your terminal degree. I was given a lot of scholarship $. The quality of education I believe is equivalent to other 4 year universities. I also feel that the smaller class sizes are a plus. Ignore some of the other reviews that are negative, they probably encountered someone on an off day. As for the cost of parking it's very affordable especially compared to other universities where it could be hundreds a semester and the transcripts and having to pay for them. Every single college does this, it's nothing new! I really like their connections with local community colleges where I had no problem transferring summer school credit back to apply towards my degree. As for the women's studies review. The curriculum has changed slightly and there are many many classes that qualify for that requirement...for example women in music. The gender and social change class quite honestly is just a sociology class targeted at all aspects of gender. This class is important because of TWU's history (And it's just ONE class). TWU has expanded so much since I left and the chancellor is doing a great job bring TWU into the spot light. This is just my take...take everything with a grain of salt. I am very appreciative of my time at TWU and my degree and with any college you get out what you put in. Proud to be a pioneer and going to a school I like to call the best kept secret in north Texas (seriously the campus is so pretty).”
