“Modern Ink is a special place to make memories that will last you a lifetime. You will feel welcomed at the top of the red carpet and all the way to the back patio where the love meets you at the end of the day. Daniella and Kevin have created such a vibe. The venue is a good location for any special occasion. The all inclusive package makes event planning seamless. The staff are attentive and courteous. The tacos were delicious and the cake beautifully designed. The rooms do not need hardly any decor. The centerpieces provided brightened up the table with an extra touch of class and elegance. A perfect location to celebrate. Thank you Daniella for an epic party.”

“Stopped in randomly and have officially found my new tattoo spot. The artwork, the staff, even the playlist was fire. Got a tattoo by Hunter who did some great color work on my snake and a nose piercing by Stormi. Great experience. Will be back soon!”

“An iconic Houston store and the creation of a wonderful man who wanted to share his culture. I had the privilege of coming here as a kid with my grandmother and recently got to visit Casa Ramirez again for the first time in years. The store is very nicely laid out, prices are fair, and Mrs. Ramirez continues her husbands legacy of showing great care for her customers. I would recommend anyone a visit here to get a taste of true Mexican culture without having to get on a plane.”

“Visiting the Art of the World Gallery was a sublime experience. My reason was to see the work of the Egyptian Armen Agop. A sculptural and pictorial expression that captivates with its minimalism and harmony, leading us to inner peace. Each sculpture, whether in black granite or bronze, stands out for the subtlety of its sinuous curves and the simplicity of its forms, inviting us to connect with the present.Observing from afar the paintings, majestic black dots and delicate painted features, we are invited to embark on a journey into the depths of being and to connect with the inner energy, known in Hinduism, in the Vedic texts as chakra, whose meaning in Sanskrit is circle or wheel. The imposing black circumference absorbs the gaze, overwhelms and focuses us on the small spot of color. As we get closer, we appreciate how the pigment decomposes, unraveling into millions of volatile, dancing, floating dots, like planets and constellations in the viewer's universe, reaffirming the miracle of life. To enter the Art of the World Gallery is to immerse oneself in a BOUTIQUE MUSEUM, where the museography, the selection of works and artists, the lighting and the curatorship take care of every detail. The reception is warm, a smile immediately establishes a connection of related interests. Whether a collector, potential buyer or simply an art enthusiast, the visitor is attended to with attention to his or her desire to learn about and enjoy the exhibition. I was fortunate to speak with Liliana Molina, Co-Founder of the Gallery, who generously came out of her office and with a kind smile shared her time and perspectives in an enriching conversation. This experience was a delight, and I thank the entire gallery team for making my visit a pleasant experience.I highly recommend this beautiful Boutique Museum in Houston, TX, for those who wish to immerse themselves in art and enjoy a welcoming space.Thank you for enriching my spirit.”

“The Silos at Sawyer Yards is a hidden gem in Houston! Established in 2005, this art studio-based shopping center is a creative haven housed in 6 repurposed industrial buildings. The campus is a dynamic space where local artists unleash their talents across various mediums, from paintings and sculptures to ceramics, glass, mosaic, photography, mixed media, and jewelry. The second Saturday of each month is a treat, as artists open their studios to the public from 12-5pm. One standout feature is Art Alley, adorned with captivating street murals that lead visitors into a world of visual delights. Houston's reputation for street art finds a fitting showcase here, creating an immersive and Instagram-worthy experience.A giant 35 foot three multi-colored letters "ART" Sculpture by David Adickes’ is establish on the premise of Sawyer Yards. On the base of Adickes’ enormous sculpture are names of many historical artists with a spot that reads “Your name here,” written in gold lettering. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the passion of the artists is palpable. Whether you're a seasoned art enthusiast or just looking for a refreshing cultural experience, The Silos at Sawyer Yards is a must-visit.”

“Love to see moribund churches being repurposed into something beneficial to the community!!! When a friend had a play here, we jumped at the chance to come and show support! The place is still very much looking like a church on the outside (the sign is just a banner for now), but the space is very large and there are numerous bathrooms, which are both huge pluses! Our event had a bar and food for sale. The sound system was awesome! There were many volunteers to help, but getting in and getting tickets needed a bit of work. Overall we had a great time here & recommend the space for all sorts of events!”

“I love the Reeves; coolest museum in downtown. They're always having an exhibition or some sort of event where people can come and not only look at and buy art, but also to meet the artists; like how neat is that?? There's nothing more heartwarming and clarifying than listening to the creator explain what their piece really means. The Reeves is such a special art gallery with pieces rotating every month. It's great to come by and look, buy art, and maybe even make a friend!”

“I have been several times. Today there were no artists who were open and there were no exhibits to see. This is why I'm giving 4 stars. I am just saying to go another time. Saturdays are often great days to see artists with open doors (you can watch them make art and learn about their craft). Normally there are cool exhibits, I just went at a bad time. Cool place, maybe just call ahead to see what's available (there was almost nothing to see today, 9/22). Always free to go and cool stuff on display. It's like a zoo with artists instead of animals”

“It was such a pleasure to be able to stop in and see the busts. Initially I stopped by just to see the Charlie Chaplin statue, but workers were there and they were gracious enough to let my friend and I in to see the busts up close and personal. Mr. Adickes does awesome work and it was great to see the art that he is choosing to share with the world.”

“Jonathan Hopson Gallery is a lovely art gallery nestled in Montrose. The space is beautiful (the gallery is in a home built in the early 1900s), and Jonathan as well as his wife Debra do a great job of guiding visitors through the exhibitions. It is that strength that keeps me coming back to Jonathan Hopson Gallery. Jonathan has an innate talent in helping his visitors open up a dialogue with the artist's works by being available to explain who the artist is, what materials they work with, and why they wanted their show to look a certain way. Few people have the ability to moderate effectively, and it is a joy to explore Jonathan's exhibitions because of it.Keep in the loop with this gallery.”

“Love this store! They have a wonderful selection of gifts for yourself or others. Goods include jewelry, candles and bath, pottery, cards, baby, stickers, art and much more. “We saw their advertisement on Instagram and decided to go check out the gallery. I'm really glad that we went by because it was absolutely amazing. I'm shocked that we never heard about this place before. It made for a really good date night. We checked out the main attraction that we saw on Instagram but we also check out all of the other galleries as well. At least the ones that were open. The artist at the galleries were very friendly, and willing to tell us about their set up and everything they do. I had no idea this place has been here since the 1960s. We will definitely come back here in the future to check out more exhibits. I'm shocked and it's only $700 a month to rent a space. That's a really good deal. However, there's a five year waiting list which is quite long. So good luck with that.”

“I recently visited Off the Wall Gallery and it was an amazing experience. The art they had displayed were unique and intriguing. The staff was friendly and courteous. They stayed with our group to give us a brief history of some of the art and artists we were interested in. I highly recommend looking into this gallery if you are in the market”

“On my recent trip to Houston I visited several galleries to get an idea of what's happening in art there. In this gallery I had the great pleasure of meeting both the curator of their summer show and the gallery owner herself. In New York, gallerists and gallery workers ccannot typically be bothered with a visitor unless they have mountains of cash to spend on the art. My experience in the Barbara Davis gallery was very much the opposite. They were engaging and interesting and it resulted in a wandering conversation that touched on a number of things about both the art on view and collecting in general. If you're in Houston to see art, don't forget this stop. The work on the walls made an excellent case for Houston's art scene and, if you choose, you'll likely have some good discussion.”

“Silver Street Studios is located in the Sawyer Yards. It used to be a distribution warehouse and has now become an event venue and art studio. Sawyer Yards has a large parking lot and there is street parking close to the Silver Street Studios as well. Depending on the event, parking can be tight in the area. This place is pretty awesome as I have seen it transformed into all kind of cool events. Last year I came to the Infinite Experience which was a large, immersive space experience. When I did it, I felt like we were in some very large space with all kinds of different rooms. Don't get me wrong, this place is huge, but more narrow than wide in the main area. They just know how to utilize and maximize the space to it's full potential. This past weekend, I saw this space turned into the WhiskeyX Festival. So many vendors attended but yet, I felt like we had plenty of room to roam around and mingle. This place also doubles as a place for artists to showcase their art. It is open to the public on certain days. If you are looking for a venue for your next event, or looking for a cool event to attend, check out Silver Street and see what's happening!”
