You don’t really see chain pet stores giving out free samples like that! The older lady at the counter was also very sweet :)

2990 Richmond Ave suite 620, HoustonShelby is the BEST!!! My dog Ollie has serious resource guarding issues (specifically with food) and reactivity toward other dogs in public places. I reached out to Beyond the Dog after an especially scary incident between Ollie and the other dog in my home. Shelby helped me understand the signs of resource guarding, how to mitigate the chance of altercations occurring, and also did training/obedience techniques with Ollie that has made him so much more manageable at home. Ollie is also a “velcro dog” with separation anxiety, so it’s been tough to find someone that Ollie trusts and is comfortable with. Shelby was so patient with Ollie and I was so impressed to see how quickly Ollie took to her and he actually looks forward to their sessions! Shelby has also helped address his reactivity in public places. Before, he would pull on his leash on walks and would bark at almost every dog we saw on the street. Ollie now walks right next to me on walks and doesn’t bark or pull when he sees other dogs. I can’t recommend beyond the dog and Shelby enough!

This time I ordered something light and refreshing: Earl Grey Black Tea with Tea Jelly. You can customize your sweetness and ice level! I also went for a special combination banh mi with no jalapeños to try. The tea hit the spot for me. Refreshing and strong tea flavor. Exactly what I needed! The Banh Mi was delicious. I finished it all in one sitting. I thought combination meant actual grilled meats, but it seems like they are the processed Vietnamese sliced meats. No big deal. Still delicious and flavorful. It came with cucumbers, pickled veggies, cilantro, and a mixed mayo spread. They had plenty of seats inside for groups and individuals to sit and study/relax, along with greenery to make this place more cozy and relaxing. They also had a shelf of games you can play! The staff were nice and was respectful when I asked for a few minutes to look through their menu. This place has yet to disappoint one bit. I will be a very frequent returning customer!

The brisket was tender with the perfect smoky bark, the ribs fell right off the bone, and the sausage had amazing flavor. The sides were just as good — the mac and cheese was creamy, the beans were seasoned perfectly, and the potato salad tasted homemade.
Even close to closing time, everything was fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The service was friendly, fast, and never rushed. You can tell they really care about the quality of their food and the people they serve.
If you’re in Houston and want true Texas BBQ, Henderson & Kane needs to be on your list. I’ll absolutely be back!

They have a nice variety of options (I was torn on what to order!) and the chef/staff are very accommodating! I ordered the multigrain power bowl and loved it! A great example of eating healthy can be full of flavor, fresh, and comforting! I want to come back and try the legume bowl. I recommend supporting this local restaurant! It definitely wont take me 7 years to come back!

2400 Karbach St, HoustonI was pleasantly met with such a lovely experience at Katz Coffee. I was in the mood for coffee or a matcha for my afternoon pick me up and stumbled upon Katz Coffee. Located in East Spring Branch, the coffee shop is nestled between supplier stores and warehouses its exterior certainly blends in with its surroundings. However, the interior is quite eclectic, fun, with fond pictures, news articles throughout. I ordered an ice matcha that was delicious! Nice amount of sweetness and this flavor was definitely more nutty compared to others I've tried. To my surprise I took out my card to pay and was told the drinks at the cafe are complimentary. That was such a lovely surprise that I definitely do not take for granted. The employees educated us on the reasoning behind the cafe's mission and naturally I researched more about the company as well. I will certainly patron this cafe and continue to tip, purchase products to support their cause.

11614 Dumas St, HoustonIt turned out to be a fortuitous experience finding Mr. Platt. I can't overstate how great he is. He also took me on short notice very promptly, even that Sunday is his day off. Very kind, genuine, warm person. He and someone working for him each drove from very far to both pick up my cat and to return her. I was very happy with the pretty wooden box with the lock on it and the card too. I wasn't dressed very well when he brought her back to me, so I was brief and regretted not spending more time on my thank yous. He's just wonderful, and is remarkable in his business.

Donna's brother flew with the puppy from Texas to Seattle. He was very kind and took fantastic care of the baby. I was terrified to buy a puppy from some one I have not meet face to face and to have the baby flown from Texas to Seattle but Donna and her brother made it easy and worry free. I would highly recommend this breeder. Donna is fantastic and her babies are amazing.

2929 Allen Pkwy, HoustonIt's under some construction on the entire left side right now. It's the largest dog park I've ever been too. The puppy lake is really great. It has a shallow ledge too, so a timid dog can get used to the water and depth. I go during the week when it's pretty empty because on weekends it is extremely full and my dog can get overwhelmed pretty quickly. I love this park.

The two amazing ladies there are very nice. They showed us the cats and let us spend time with the kittens we were interested in. Not only did we adopt one cat but we adopted three. They are amazing cats, very well taken care of and very well trained. My kids and I are very happy with the three and the kittens have adjusted wonderfully and love us very much!!
