I was in a difficult situation and didn’t have enough money to pay for my U-Haul rental. Instead of making me feel embarrassed or rushed, Maya treated me with compassion and respect. She patiently waited while I worked things out and even offered other options to help.

“34th St (The Heights) is THE BEST LOCATION to use in my area of Houston. They make things easy. Equipment always clean and ready to use. The staff there was so helpful. above and beyond. They saved me from having to use another location. I ORIGINALLY reserved at 34th st, but the corporate reservation people changed my reservation to a site around the corner (Best Handi Stop 3502 Mangum). The Uhaul people who called me said that the34th street location didn't have any trucks (a LIE), and that I would need to pick up at Best Handi Stop. When I went to pick up the truck at Best Handi stop, I was met by a flock of homeless people, one of which was behind the truck defecating on the ground right behind it. The truck was clearly a hang out and refuge for all the people milling around. This Best Handi stop is known to be filthy, and basically an open air drug market, prostitute hang out, and a place where all kinds of people (with no good intentions) congregate all day. When I went inside, I was met very rudely by the woman behind the counter who offered absolutely no help. I immediately left, without the truck, and went to the 34th street location. I've used 34th street a number of times and they are always helpful and professional. I WILL NOT use any other location except 34th street, I will never let the corporate reservation people change again. If they try to change, just go to the 34th street location in person, and they will make sure you are taken care of”
