“Booked this room since our daughter was getting married in Sinton. Check in was so easy and they were very nice. The room was clean and everything looked and worked great. It was in a great location and even though it is right off Highway 361, I heard very little traffic noise. I was expecting the same old continental breakfast, but breakfast was awesome, It had eggs, bacon sausage, oatmeal, muffins, yogurts, cereal, It was awesome. There were eight of us and all of us were surprised at how great the breakfast was. Will return and highly recommend. It is a great bargain for the money.”
“Nice clean room close to the beach. The heated pool at 90 degrees was a plus point for me and my kids when the weather was cold outside. There is a nice library near the lobby as well. Breakfast here is above average as some other reviewers wrote.Noteworthy details: Nice library near the lobby. Heated pool in winter season.”

“As a former Condo Owner in Port Aransas, I know what makes a great rental and Sandcastle is indeed great. I can't imagine that that any short term rental facility has come back from Harvey better than Sandcastle. It's truly a Resort. We were owners at another complex for 40+ years and this was our first time as renters. Wife and I stayed all of January in Condo 533, a 1 BR withGreat layout, monster screen TV, King Bed, great kitchen and great view. Maybe the best part is a very comfortable and nap-able Sectional sofa. (A Big plus). The view of the beach is outstanding. The other pluses: The hot tubsStayed open in the winter; The Sandcastle staff was outstanding and the maintenance crew were doing something everyday to make it even better (hard workers). Highly recommend Sandcastle and 533 if you're needing a 1BR.”
“Hands down the best motel experience I ever had. Best house cleaning and front desk staff. The rooms smelled good after each room service. Don't go with reviews that the bathrooms were dirty. It was a brand new motel and absolutely loved the bathrooms, they were modern and clean. Beds were very good and comfortable. I stayed in a two bed room. All-in-all a pleasant experience. Gonna definitely come back next time.”

“We stay in a lovely condo on the 3rd floor and can see the ocean from the front patio, plus it's a close walk to the beach. We always go late August through early November when it's still nice and warm, but not crowded. The office and maintenance staff are really nice!”
“Talk about a NIGHT AND DAY difference between Hampton Inns.....the previous night I stayed in Brownsville.This one was reasonably priced, albeit the parking lot was empty.The bed was good not great. I want to feel like I'm floating on a cloud. Smaller pillows just seem weird to me.The room and bathroom were very clean which was appreciated.I didn't hear any noise throughout the night which was awesome.Lastly, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was complimentary and baller. Well done!A great location for enjoying the island and it's nature loving activities.”
“Very nice hotel. The bathroom looks like it was just tiled. The room was neat and clean. The front of the building is like new. There are three EV charging spots. The pool was clean. Terrific location with plenty of parking. Would have been a 5 star if they served breakfast.”

“For starters, this was a last-minute resort, and I was just trying to get into some thing that the family could stay in for one night because everything is booked if you didn’t play way ahead of time . The sheet felt humid and wet , I had to sleep on top of the wool cover .”

“We stayed here for over a month in Feb. Of this year and again for 5 nights this week. We love the Portland TX Home 2 our rooms were clean when we checked in I never get housekeeping whenever we stay somewhere I prefer to clean our own mess up. The staff is AMAZING The front desk workers are awesome Kimmy, Ken, Austin and Dustin huge shout outs for being great with their customers and always being cheerful and accommodating I have a very active 8 year old and they are so patient with him and my 10 year old daughter we will stop by just to say hi sometimes. ( we live in the area close by)”
