“We got some gas which was about the average price in the local area. We used the restroom which was clean and probably needed minor attention. We got some fountain soft drinks and the checkout was quick and easy. The only real issue was that the gas pump did not give a receipt. We needed the receipt as this was a company vehicle. The whole purpose of paying at pump is to not needing to go inside. We went inside anyway but this is not always the case.”

“The gas station was kept up the restrooms were also kept up the outside parking lot was clean we also saw a sign that says customer parking only if you park longer than 30 minutes you will be told at Owners expense”
“This is not my regular QT, but I was sure glad I found it. I had taken my daughter out to eat and tried a shortcut to get back to her house and stumbled across this location. As I drove by it, I just happened to look at the posted gas prices. They were so low that I turned around and went back just to confirm the prices. I was shocked. Diesel was only $2.86 per gallon. It was even slightly cheaper than regular gas. So I filled it up:-)Everything else about this place was typical for a QT. From clean fluid for washing windows to abundant paper towels for drying them, they had you covered. Additionally, the grounds were immaculate. They must have an awesome staff.Will I return? Most definitely:-)”

“I just want to give a big shout out to Ms. Marina. I had a concern the other day about the frozen coke machine and even though it was out of her hands to do anything she promised to let the guys that work on the machines on Wednesdays that compare to all other QT stores in the area their frozen coke machine dispenses a super foamy product that ends up being half of the cup a few minutes later and almost tasteless. This is the closest store to my house but half the time I end up driving the extra 10 minutes to go further to the other store in Potranco or the one on Hwy 90 just to buy their well made frozen coke and other products. Please take a look into fixing it so it dispenses the right product, anyways love the store and the employees here! Starting to hate your frozen coke! ?”

“The store is clean and very well organized. No clutter on the floor. The cashier was very sweet and nice. I enjoy going to this Dollar General than the others I tend to go to. Because they have produce, fresh vegetables and fruits. Unfortunately the prices are a bit higher compared to other larger stores, but if you just need to go in for quick shopping this is a good place to go. Just depending on how many people are in line waiting at the only register open.”

“Choke Canyon Travel Center on Shepherd Road off Interstate 35 is a hidden gem for brisket lovers! I recently have placed 3 separate orders of 10 lbs of their deliciously tasty and tender brisket for family gatherings, and this brisket has been a hit. Today's order was specially appreciated because it has been a rough week! This order is for my mom's 91 birthday. The brisket came perfectly garnished with pickles and onions, along with both spicy and regular BBQ sauces. They even included loaves of bread, making it incredibly convenient for our event.
A special shoutout to Chris Perez for his exceptional service. He expertly prepared our order and ensured it was loaded into my vehicle with care. His attention to detail and friendly demeanor made the experience even better. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by Choke Canyon Travel Center for some amazing brisket and top-notch service! Say hi to Chris!”

“Best gas station in the state of Texas. Crew is very friendly and loves the costumers. Manager is the very respectful. Store is by far one of the cleanest I’ve been too. Lines are long but that’s because it’s a busy location, crew will get you out in no time. Big worm is by far the best he knows all his costumers and can work for a big boy. Just love this store”

“Stopped in for tacos while in the area. The brisket taco was excellent, pieces of brisket, not shredded and great smoke flavor. The beef fajita was also good and had a chorizo, bean and cheese and was excellent as well. Tortillas weee fresh and tasty only thing somewhat subpar was the red salsa. Looked like pace picante sauce. Portions were big for the price. I’ll def be coming back for more when in the area though.”
“This gas station has only been around a couple of years and had 3 different owners. But regardless of that it still has not missed a beat. Never had a problem with anything employees are freindly and attentive.”
